What is your motor oil and filter preference?

5w-40 in the summer, Pennzoil European.
Premium Gard, oil filters.

I have never had an issue with Mobil 1 Full synthetic 5w30 and a wix filter.

What kind of "issue" could anyone possibly have with oil brand selections?

It's not recommended by the owner manual. 5w-30 it's the lowest viscosity this car requires.

For the first couple of years of ownership,
my dealer used only 0w30 (as was written on my oil cap)
Then they performed a recall, and changed the oil cap.

Personally, I don't know if there are any real issues other than the odd, very rare, bad batch. But you don't have to be on car forums long before you hear someone say, "xxx oil is garbage, you should run yyy."

Oil is oil just changed it more regularly and you should be fine.
