I intend to have this done by a local mechanic rather than the dealership. I cannot seem to find a list to give to them - so as not to void the warranty. Can anyone point me to such a list?

There's service intervals for the various things in the owner's manual. There's a digital copy of the owner's manual online if you don't have the original. Your mechanic will be able to interpret the charts if you can't.

Unless you have a specific question about one of the items, never go by posts on an internet forum if you're concerned about keeping your warranty intact. Go by what Kia specifies in their own words, not some internet armchair mechanic.

More than likely it's just a bend over and take it without lube would be my guess.

And those items above - are for if you only drive the car indoors (minor sarcasm).
If you drive the car - in ANY of the following..

You are to follow the SEVERE schedule (outdoor driving)

Nah - he is doing the smart thing, and avoiding the dealership for this maintenance, using a "local mechanic" instead.

Hopefully he's had good experience w/ the shop, there's plenty local mechanics that don't provide lube either, even w/ their "lube jobs" lol.

As you did not supply a model (4cyl or 6cyl), drive (RWD/AWD) trim level, (GT1, GT2), the best you can do is google what is required.

Note I did this from Australia and came up with a Kia Dealership in Miami FLORIDA where you can put in your car's exact details and it will give you the exact service requirements for your car.

This is the link

Pick the year, click the DOT to change the page to STINGER, fill in the boxes and away you go...............

That website, is halfway decent.
During my quick glance, it does not look like they are pushing many dealer added services.

Thanks all. I had seen this maintenance schedule but at some point in the past I had come across the one in GetFd's link and I couldn't put my hands on it again. Thanks.

To the Original Poster. Make sure the mechanic puts the correct and "expensive" oil in.

Here it is Castrol 5W30 "A5" oil. Not 5W 30 "C3" that is not recommended for the 3.3L TT Stinger.

"A5" retails here for $80 for 4 litres........so make sure your mechanic uses the correct oil equivalent.

That's not necessarily the smart thing.

I had a Pontiac G8GT that I traded for my 2022 Stinger GT1 and a Chevy SS (LS3 engine), lost because of an out of control head on an uninsured idiot gave me.

For the GMs, I used the local Buick/GMC dealer, part of a large chain of dealerships. Worked our Pontiac G8GT that I traded on the Stinger and the Chevy SS. SVC manager was an ASE certified mechanic.

I think the GT1 filter is funky, why that cluge, just have a typical spin on cannister filter? I did it once and really dislike it. Have a shoulder issue so I don't like being on my back taking off all the fasteners.

Asked the SVC manager if he'd want to do the oil changes on the Stinger? MUCH closer and no nasty San Antonio traffic.

He didn't want to do it. Don

^^Say what?
Exactly what don't you understand? Pretty clear to me. A certified and very experienced mechanic and service manager didn't want to work on the Stinger. His comment, I don't need to interrogate him. Don

I agree with you. I had the G8 V8 (Commodore SSV) myself. Very easy to work on. Threaded filter underneath. It used to cost $80 a service changing the genuine oil filter, air cleaner and 10W30 recommended oil. I serviced it for 14 years and sold it in brand new condition again on a trade in on the new My23 Stinger GT.

The GM Service Manager might have a range of reasons not to work on your Stinger. He doesn't stock the parts for one. Probably doesn't have the right software. Most places pay a license for fee for all the models whereas GM might just have theirs. Doesn't have the right parts for service, has to buy them in, and if there are any warranty items and probably a pain the A to try and get them from Kia when they aren't the owner.......plus it's under warranty so why take it to GM anyway.

Take it to Kia. Don't know about the USA but it is Capped Price Servicing here for the first 7 years. It's a bit pricey but local mechanics don;t leave money on the table. Instead of charging half they take $10 off and they use non genuine parts, and they can't fix warranty items....

I do take it to a large dealership. They seem quite competent and I've gotten to know the service advisors. Not a lot more expensive than doing it myself. Don
