Looking to get into a 2022 GT1. Credit is between 720-760 and i have a cosigner.
Im ok with putting down 2-3.5k? Or more not really sure as this is my first new car lease since 2013.

What should I look for? How should I “negotiate”
Any help would be great! Thanks

Howdy and welcome. First off, do not put money down on a lease; keep it back for "eventualities". These days, if you can get anything off MSRP you are doing well.

"Eventualities" covers the possible events that take money. If you use it for a lower lease amount you could lose all of it through a loss of the car, for instance. If your budget is so tight that a lease payment is dicey then I'm thinking this isn't a good idea. Anyway, the Stinger was the only lease I've ever done: there are leasing "pros" on here: I've been reading a lot of what they have to offer as advice. But after this lease, I'm going to pay cash from now on: which is rather what we did: we bought out the lease at three months in. When the incentives were large enough, leasing and buyout made sense. Not so much right now.

I see. I never said the payments were “dicey” i just said i want a good monthly lol. But the whole totaling the car thing i get it.
Thanks, it seems I just go get the car for the amount the sell it. Like There isnt any InSaNe lease deals anymore. And thats fine. I just want to know what the “best” i can do rn is. Also im not trying to buy this car, just lease so the cash aspect is not applicable

So, you're going to return the car at lease end? That was one of the two factors that made me lease to begin with: I thought that at the end of three years I'd likely want the newer Stinger. (the other factor was the huge lease incentive at the time). When we had enjoyed the car for nearly three months I was reading on here about the buyout, and realized how much in lease rent we would save if we paid off the lease now: and the first factor was no longer a factor: I did not care what other goodies and changes Kia made to the Stinger three years hence: I liked my car thoroughly as-is: a newer car was not going to change that enjoyment. And so it has proven. :)

But sure, if you like to change out cars often, I see no reason to finance or even less, pay cash up front. The privilege of leasing has a payment: so be it. And then you always have a brand new car. That is a very attractive way to go.

The best deals shared on here right now are a few thousand off MSRP. I think the biggest one I saw for a 2021 was pushing $5K with some Kia incentive thrown into the dealer discount.

Yes that makes sense. The incentives offered right now are around 2500 depending on dealership. But yea I am going to listen to you giys and not put any down or as little as possible.

firstly, i agree on no down payment.
secondly, try not to mention you're trying to lease until the very end, or wanting the best monthly payment.

third, protect yourself from getting screwed over in the details and know your money factor, residual, and lease incentives. go to edmunds forums, 2022 stinger thread and put in your details (basically follow the template of other posters). if you KNOW you will eventually buy it, i'd suggest going for a 24 month/10k year lease and buy it out sooner than later. if you will only lease it, then lease terms are up to you.

then, try to find the best price off MSRP (a few grand off MSRP may or may not be worth effort to you) and go from there. normally, the salesperson would be answering that question if someone were to be financing/buying it.

Ok thanks! I f*cked up and went into 2 of the conversations with dealers by saying I want to lease. Lol but i actually think Im gunna wait until
Closer to 2022 and see how the bubble/market changes.

not saying that leasing as a whole is bad, just that i feel like it opens the opportunity for naughty salespeople to end up wasting your time, ending up running the numbers to just say "ok so best we can do for you is $xx/month but you need to put $4k down" even though you may have explicitly said no downpayment...at least from what i experienced.

btw i'm pretty bearish on the market in 2022...been hearing speculations of how it could potentially last through 2023 or longer, and thats after supply chain speculations of resuming course in 2022

ok, tacky time, but i am too curious, what are you paying monthly? if this is too tacky i apologize, is there a way to secret message, i just want to get an idea of how bad my monthly payment is, so i can feel better about myself! LOL
i know this is going to sound bad, but im upside down and am lucky to drive the stinger, but im paying six fifty a month, 2022 gt1.

I don't think that $650 per month is bad. That's barely over what mine was in early 2018.

I was looking to lease but I realized the finance price was roughly the same. This way if I want a new car I can just sell it to carmax etc which the value will hold up because it’s being discontinued.

what is a good lease deal? none of them most likely.
