Hey guys so I happed to come across an issue with a bent inner tie rod on my 19 GT2 and of course as some know you cannot buy just this part from the dealership so I saw a guy that has this same issue on here back in 2021 but didn't want to try to revive a old form so just looking for some eyes and opinions. After some research I found this inner tie rod that looks almost exactly like the OEM Stinger One in my eyes. So I'm considering ordering it to see if it will fit but need some imput before I do. What do you all think? Here's the comparison pics.

It says right on it, "does not fit your Kia Stinger". But if you cut and extend the threaded end, a la the thread you didn't want to resurrect 3.3TT - Kia stinger gt Awd inner tie rod, I don't see why it wouldn't work. "You have to ask yourself, 'Do I feel lucky'?"

Yeah but those compatibility charts don't always know everything lol I'm thinking the fact that guy was able to get a random tie rod that doesn't even look virtually the same to fit his kia stinger and work well, this 2015 Genesis sedan Tie rod Looks literally exactly the same probably just has a different part number so I'm feeling pretty confident it'll work plug & play, anyways I ordered it, so we gonna find out soon enough, lol thanks for the input tho!

Yup I saw the one for the K5 that one does look very similar, only difference I saw was the Rod Portions looked a little different but I'd assume it would probably work too! If this one for the genesis doesn't work that's what I will be trying next! I'll be sure to post my results, for anyone who have this issue in the future. Thanks man!

Pictures of car parts are often "reference" or "example" pictures. They might not even be of the part being sold. Just depends on the site and manufacturer and how detailed they want to be. Shops don't give a fart about pictures, so tracking pictures for every unique part is a waste of money. Just keep that in mind - what you receive may not be what's pictured. Look for a specification table - not pictures. Although, I don't think I've ever seen a spec table for tie rods....

There are a bunch of variables on the tie rod. Mounting thread pitch, size, length, ball size and location, rod thread pitch, size, start/end. There's a chance another part would work, or a chance the geometry would be different. That third picture shows that rod has a much different adjustment area, which would likely prevent it from being able to get an acceptable toe and wheel centering.

Another option is to go digging through junkyards and find someone to part out the tie rod.

For sure the pictures just be stock photos sometimes! I should delete the third picture because that long time rod is what a completely different guy bought and used on his Stinger I only uploaded that to reference what the OEM tie rod looks like at a different angle. I certainly don't feel like going through the hassle of cutting and re threading a tie rod to find out if it'll work, rather I'd simply will try to find one from most likely the same manufacturer that's compatible, so that's my goal. But I also did reach out to a few salvage yards around my area that had stingers and none of them would part the tie rod out from the rack unfortunately, but I don't blame them either! So we gonna hope for the best here lol I think either this Genesis tie rod or the K5 is gonna be my best bet but since the stinger uses the same chassis as the Genesis and allot of similar parts I feel this is the best bet possible for matching dimensions. So we shall soon see!

Kia part number 57724-D4000 also looks close.

So just an update on what I did about my Inner Tie Rod Situation, the Genesis one I received in the mail the threads were too small, the OEM outer tie rod just went right over the Genesis Inner. So that was a no go...BUT I managed to buy a 2015 Sonata Inner Tie rod that Matched up Almost Perfectly, now granted the Wheel Alignment Place had to screw the outer rod all the way into the new inner, in order for it to aligh properly BUT it worked none the less with a plug and play install. So the only real noticeable difference with that Sonata Rod is the Threads Stop a bit shorter and the Rod is a Hair longer then the OEM Stinger Inner. But it was enough compromise left in order to line it up properly! Been driving the vehicle for about 2 weeks now or so and even did some hard pull races (with the buddies) and she is holding up perfectly! If you look closely you can see where the OEM Bar Bolt was lined up at and it's practically the exact same spot as the end of the threads for the sonata.

Did you have any issues pulling the inner tie rod off? I've tried using the proper tool i borrowed from AutoZone and no dice, put vice grips on it and had to push it with my leg almost full force just to get it to turn 1/4 a couple times but isn't getting any easier. I'm worried the threads that mate to the rack go f&*%ed up from the impact and may have to replace the whole rack. Hoping im just an idiot, no pins in the inner tie-rod right?

Hey man yeah I did actually have a VERY hard time getting the inner off, I thought I was gonna mess up the insides of the trans, but I found out once I got it off, that they use a thread locker on the inner rod so, what I did was heated it up with a Torch till it got red and it came right off!

You CAN use thread locker to install the new Inner but I didn't, simply because I never had any inner tie rods in 10 years have any thread locker on them so, I'm sure it's not essential but to each their own, mine worked just fine without it, no issues.

I have a 2022 gt2 I need to replace the inner tie rod for the passenger side. Do you think this method would work as well ?

What trim level of the 2015 Sonata Inner Tie rod did you used or do you still have the part number

The sonata Inner Rods do work for the Stinger, the only thing you will come upon is that the threads stop quite a bit shorter which you can tell in the original picture I posted, but once the alignment shop finished their work, it was aligned properly, only thing was they had to screw the outer rod all the way to the back of the inner, but it was secure and worked fine none the less!

I reponded to this days ago but it doesn't look like it ever posted but I do believe all of the trims are the same but don't quote me, only one I would think might be different is the hybrid, but try the SE or Limited Trim.
