I got you! It's definitely a significant change in noise! I love the sounds of it in the video, I'd love to see a drive-by and take off video![]()

I don't have a family of my own and by the time I do I'll have another family sedan haha but no doubt! That is LOUD in the cabin.
Don't get me wrong, I love it, but not for taking the family on a couple hour trip.
Hey Folks,
I see I'm a little behind the times lol.
Anyway. I am thinking of this kit and keeping the stock catback. Can anyone tell me what to expect in terms of DRONE mostly as well as loudness ?
I can't handle drone. I don't mind louder but prefer not super loud.
Also, in terms of power will the stock cat back decrease gains claimed by the company?
And lastly, it recommends a bench tune. Can I use the JB4 in this role ?? Or does it need to be a bench tune?
Thank you all for any input you can give,
Gonzo
Hello Gonzi,Hey Folks,
I have a few questions mabye someone can give me some insight. These pipes have been on the market for a couple years so hopefully...
1. How bad is the drone if you use the stock cat back ?
2. Do you have to get a bench tune or can you use the JB4?
3. What if you do no tune or JB4?
4. Can anyone who has installed these give me feedback on what to expect and how hard installation is?
I'm looking because one of my stock Cats split and Kia may not replace it under warranty. So this may be a great option vs. paying KIA for a stock cat.....
Thank's
Gonzi
Hello Gonzi,
Happy to help answer these questions for you.
1) You will not gain much drone at all from installing this setup with the stock exhaust. Done usually comes from changing out the catback exhaust, but by keeping your stock mufflers, this alone will not add much drone if any at all.
2) No, a bench tune is not required/needed, we have many customers running this setup with the JB4 tune.
3) This can be run without a tune on a stock Kia Stinger without an issue. To get the most performance however, it is best to run a tune with this setup.
4) I'll let a member who has already installed this give you feedback on what to expect in terms of the installation, but it is pretty straightforward.

You're very welcome.David,
Thank you very much for sharing your expertise. It is much appreciated.
If I keep the stock cat back, will I still see power gains ? Or do you recommend a catback with this set up ?
Looks like this will be my next mod once I get my sway bars and install them !!

Actually, I'm here in California, and we have the strictest emissions laws anywhere in the US.Hey David - I'm in NJ, and it sounds like we have similar laws as you do in NC around primary + secondary cats with a visual. No issues passing emissions for you with HFCs I am assuming? I actually got rid of my last car because I deleted my secondary cats and it was almost inspection time, so I joined the Stinger family a month before inspection was due.
My pleasure, happy to help.Ok,
Thank you all for sharing your experience and input.
One more question:
I will do the downpipe/high flow cat kit.
Which catback exhaust would you match up with it, to get the least drone ? and second consideration after least drone is most gain in power.
Thank's
Gonzo
hi Fernando,Hi David, I think Stillen catback would be the perfect match for a non drone ride at all. Or, may be Maganaflow. Borla do not have the midpipes resonators and I think this makes a huge diference, in exhaust noise (much louder) and drone effects, to Borla set up.
Dyno results are posted right on the product page of our site.Did we ever get any dyno results or track times om this mod?
Thank you!!Dyno results are posted right on the product page of our site.
No problem, you’re very welcome.Thank you!!
I must be going blind!!
Are those numbers just these? Or is that with a catback and a tune?
Thanks
