• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

From a Facebook group we have a Unichip Group buy offered to us normally around $2300. For 10 or more offered to us us $1950
From: Blakehurst auto repairs
649 Princes Hwy, Blakehurst,
NSW. (02 9547 3399) c/o Nick.

From Nick:
So it comes from the horses mouth, Our offer for the members is supply, install and custom tune the Unichip with a Bluetooth 5 map selector is $1950.
We need a minimum of 10 (happy to accomodate more) to secure this price.
Once we have the 10 we will issue the members with an invoice and we would require a $1000 non refundable deposit as Unichip do not refund once I have placed the order.

I am sure you are all well aware of the stock issues. We have not been able to install a Unichip on any vehicle all year as there has been no stock in the county.

For those who are still interested to buy it as a stand alone I’m happy to do it for $1600 including freight. This offer can help you guys make your 10 too.

Note: lead time expected to be 4-6weeks. Product procurred after order commitment.

This is great if you live in Sydney, however if you live anywhere else it's not really viable as the UNICHIP Q4 requires a "LIVE TUNE" (yes it is Plug n Play, but they recommend a Live Tune at the time of instillation) All that being said it is a Great Deal considering it includes the Instillation, the Tune and a Bluetooth Module. Just be mindful that there is a MASSIVE Backlog getting the ECU's and Modules from the manufacturer in South Africa. I have been waiting for over 3 months for my Bluetooth Module, I already have the Q4 installed and am LOVING IT !!!

Attached is a copy of my "Live Tune" Results when my Q4 was installed back in Feb/March... 1st Run was Stock, then the 5 different MAPS with the UNICHIP Q4, the CAI and Intercooler Upgrades... Well worth the $'s spent

That's why he is offering a Unichip only package and Blakehurst can recommend a local Unichip tuner to them and try to secure them a good tuning price.

If you look on the Unichip Website, you can search for Unichip Authorized Dealers in your area and contact them for their costs etc.. When I bought my Q4, I emailed Paul at Unichip first to ask for his recommendation as to who could do the install and Tune in Perth, he then put me in contact with an Authorized UNICHIP Dealer in Perth and the rest is history..

Is it worth getting the chip and due if you are running stock, and not planning to do upgrade in the short term?

I know I wont get massive gains. Just not sure if I should wait or get the deal now

MOST DEFINATELY worth it, even with just the Unichip Q4 and Live Tune you are still looking at around the 60rwkw (80rwhp) gains..

You won't get it cheaper i believe, the gains are significant as Pumbaa says. My mail is that the standard price will go up when it comes back in. Currently covid has the factory in South Africa running at 10%. As restrictions are lifted lead times will come down. My guess there will be a wait involved. I think 6 weeks is optimistic but worth it in my view. Let us know if you are keen.

Yup but Blakehurst has good relationships with a few tuners interstate and has stated that he is happy to speak to them about a member supply and they install / tune deal. There are some Unichip dealers I definitely would not go to. Having a recommendation from a tuner that's been in the game awhile is good to have.

Yes, but having the recommendation of UNICHIP themselves is pretty good in my books too, as I said I got the Tuners details directly from Paul @ Unichip, no better recommendation than the guy who owns/runs the company? Just my opinion tho.. Not saying that Blakehurst will not also give good advice, just simply saying that if you are not in Sydney, not all is lost in regards to the group buy.. Anyway I already have my Q4 and am more than happy with the results.

Yup definately agree there. We have already got 4 people, hopefully doesn't take long to get the other 6.

Hey OP,

Is it $1600 inc postage just for the unichip?

Ok, what's the normal cost to tune them? I can easily install it.
Around $500. If you need the guys at Blakehurst can recommend a place for you, if you need, local to you.
Let me know if your keen and I'll add you to the group buy. We only need 1 more...

That's the normal price to install and tune here in VIC from Unichip/Dynomotive direct.

$500 yes is generally the normal price. Being part of the deal at Blakehurst it works out at $350 ( $1600 + $350)

I just emailed Dynomotive in Melbourne for a quote. Live tuned on the dyno with Bluetooth, installed on a KIA Stinger GT - $2400. Alot of places have increased their prices post COVID. I believe Unichip themselves have also increased their price on the units too.

So this group buy is a good deal in my opinion.

All good guys. I'm going to Paul direct at Unichip/Dynomotive. I'm happy to pay him a few cents more and he's only 30 minutes from me.

Good luck guys!
