I leased a 2020 GT2 on 7/8/20 on 24 month lease. I’ve yet to receive anything from Kia in order to setup my account. I’ve tried creating an account online using the VIN with no luck. Calling Kia finance only results in getting the message “we are experiencing higher than average call volume please try again later” and then it just disconnects. Three calls to the dealership Have proven worthless also w zero help from them. I wanted to complete the buyout by now but my first lease payment is now due in 4 days. Which I can’t even pay bc i have no info from Kia to even pay it. Has anyone else had issues like this? What did you do?

owners.kia.com Is that where you are?

1-866-331-5632 is that the phone number you are calling?

You don't have to create an account, you just have to activate it. Your VIN is already tied to your Kia account. The "Finance" link takes you directly to your finance page, which accesses your payment history and always shows your buyout quote.

I was actually trying to create the account on kmfusa.com. I already have an account on owners.kia.com but there is no link to a finance account from there.

I experienced the same scenario. It was hard to get a hold of anyone. When I did , they couldn’t find me in the system. I just kept checking kmfusa.com daily and finally, my car was there . It took three weeks until my VIN was recognized. It made me a little nervous , but eventually all came together.

It took 14 days for my VIN to register. Paperwork was either held up by the dealer or held up at KMF. It will get posted in a few days. Or.....you might get a call from the dealer saying “there was a problem with the lease and you must return the car” hahaha

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I am just worried that the first payment is due on 8/8 and today is already 8/5. Just don’t want to be late on the very first payment lol.

How did things pan out?

A warning from a personal anecdote:

Back in October of last year, I sent a check to completely buy out the rest of my Stinger. However, as the check was in route, I also had an auto payment go through, resulting in me over-paying, and having a negative balance on my account. I called up Kia finance, and they said no problem, they will send me a check to cover the overage.

Well, they sent the check, but the name was made out to someone I've never heard of (and certainly not me), so I couldn't deposit it. Now about once a month, I call up Kia Finance (which takes several attempts because of Covid issues) and explain my situation. There is even a special note on file from previous calls. They tell me yeah, there should be a re-issued check coming my way, and they don't know why it hasn't been sent out yet; that they should send it out soon, and I should look for it in the mail in about 2 weeks.

To this very day (I called again yesterday-- same story), I have not received my money. They do not give anything in writing, or a case/confirmation number, so you are kind of left in the dark, hoping they are good on their word. I honestly think they are trying to make it correct, but somehow it just gets buried in the bureaucratic channels, until I call again and remind them. I need to increase my call frequency.

Anyways, this is just a warning to get your ducks in a row, and and make sure everything is wrapped up neatly for Kia, otherwise, you may still be dealing with your issue a year later.
