OMG!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
My initial thoughts after only reading the article above... don't be a shitty driver regardless of the car. These cars and cars of nowadays (as mentioned above) give the sense of comfort and a sense of invincibility. Anything can happen at anytime and the old adage; expect the worst to happen at all times and be prepared at all times for the worst to happen is true today and will be true for a long time. Maybe once we ALL have completely autonomous driven cars and we are just along for ride that won't be the case. In any event, I've seen way too many cars hit the back of a semi and people trying to blame the semi's for going to slow. Screw that thought and once again, don't be shitty driver. Just my two cents. Truly RIP.

I guess the Forward Collision Avoidance Assist didn't kick in fast enough or is can it be disabled?

it gets turned off if you disable traction and stability
Even if it was enabled I don't think it will do much at those speeds. It might slow you down a little bit but it's not going to be able to save you.

Track days are for big speed not the streets.
Agree there - tell this guy
He's got skills but not a fan of him doing this on public roads

I live just 15 mins from where this accident happened..
Sadly driver must have been hooning around big time I think speed limit on tonelle av is 30-45mph

Am I wrong—does the car still have a paper plate? What a waste of life and a beautiful car.

The problem with these cars is all the built in distractions. Sure one is no longer manipulating their phone, instead its replaced by a touch screen on the dash.

Just because the car has all these "nannies" doesn't mean my driving habits will change. I generally keep the phone in airplane mode when driving. Expect to continue to do so. I find talking to myself distracting unless the person is sitting right there in the car.

The pic looks like it's a gt model of some sort. Power needs to be respected, else you get bitten (stung), no pun intended.

RIP

This car is a top safety pick but not much can be done when you rip the top clean off. Reminds me of those Tesla Autopilot crashes with into trailers.

This is terrible. My condolences to the family members that have to deal with this news today.

While we're at it we should mourn the countless children starving to death or dying from disease in third-world countries.

Who gives a crap if it's a Stinger or a Ferrari or a Corvette or some $950 clunker you buy with cash? Someone died, probably painfully and in a frightening way, and it sucks. But agreed, as other posters have said, modern cars are far too distracting while also giving drivers a false sense of confidence in their driving ability.

It's sad whenever people die but it is what it is.

 :(
