Trading up 2022 GT-Line to 2022 GT1?

As a chicago resident for decades, traffic here is bad, but nowhere near as bad as southern CA. Not sure about northern (never been), but we're talking mostly stop and barely go for miles on end.

How are the roads in MN? Here's its patch upon patch, pot hole city. New asphault they put down 2 years ago on a heavily traveled local arterial road is already cracking. I think in the next few years it'll be losing chunks.

I've pondered the same thing, and ended up buying a JB4 for my 2.5t. Gets me another 40-50 hp and probably within spitting distance of a stock 3.3tt in a quarter mile while still getting a healthy advantage in fuel economy. Obviously, modding a 3.3tt gets one far more power and speed if one chooses that to be a priority.

Can you actually notice the difference with normal driving once the JB4 is installed, or is it not that noticeable once installed? I've seen mixed reports on what the JB4 can actually do on the 2.5T platform.

Speaking for tunes in general (I'll let someone with the JB4 specifically elaborate), you'll usually notice as little as 10hp/tq on most tunes since they're generating extra power across the entire power band (0 - 6500rpm). Not just at the peak (but usually a bit more at peak). It's safe to say the car will have some extra get up and go, to the detriment of the tires, if 40+hp/tq at peak is an actual outcome. It's closing that gap with the stock 3.3TT

The '22 GT1 got gutted compared to prior years. It used to be the sweet spot that got you the vast majority of features if you didn't need to spring for(Or in my case, find) a GT2. Though I love the 3.3TT and it was a big draw for me, if I were looking in 2022 for a new one, I'd either opt for the GT-Line with the S/S package or just get the GT2.

It's easily noticeable between map 2 and 0 (stock) to me. I can also tell the difference when I drop down to map 1 because only 91 octane is available vs what I normally run on map 2 (93 octane).

Now, if someone is used to say, a Stage 1 tune on a VW GTI, for example, that picks up like 70+ hp and 100+tq, then no, it's not that dramatic.
