Update: Tork Motorsports - Why I've Made my Decision (John Bushbaum)


Hey All,

Tork and John don't get the attention and praise they deserve. I understand there have been less favorable interactions with some, but remember John holds records in multiple platforms such as FIAT, KIA, and Hyundai! There’s a reason for that.

The passion he has for his projects is beyond that of anyone else's and it shows in his outcomes. Which no one is touching anytime soon.

Talking to John, paying attention to what he has accomplished and what he plans to accomplish going forward with the platform has me pumped to be getting his tune. Track season can’t come sooner.

What we know:
· John/Tork will flash my ECU back to stock if I need it for a dealer issue.
· John’s passion can drive this platform to whatever heights it goes. I have no doubt that he will be the cornerstone of what this GT turns into.
· Best Gains in the Game without question
· Fastest Stinger runs with a Tork Flash.

If you want to know what sold me on moving forward this video did. When dealing with someone who has the drive and passion that is portrayed, how can you not want to work with them.


I did almost consider Pressertech but let’s be honest the gains for the value are just not there. I don’t care if he comes to my house and cleans my bathroom to show his customer service its not worth it. Plus its apparent the guys is too good to show face to us in the Korean Car Market lol.

John and Tork are good in my book. Best Tuner on the platform don’t think anyone can doubt that.

He may rub people the wrong way at times and just remember guys unlike most vendors on here, he is an Engineering Tuner and Mechanic first, business man second. Most are business first.

I was also a moderator on that forum during that time, a good deal of the drama that got pinned on John was noise from people who never actually did business with him. True, he would be better off just ignoring the noise.

Yes on owning the Stinger. Really happy with the car so far... well besides the uninsured driver who decided to rear-end it.

I would really like to Flash mine As well. My only problem is the Cost and downtime. i cant have my car down for any period of time really and cant afford the extra Ecu.

Welcome to the club! Johns passion is off the charts and that does come out in interesting ways especially if the target of his passion is wrong ;).
I was in the shop the day before yesterday and we talked for 3 hours. He walked me through his recent changes to the tune and new things he has found in the ECU and is working on implimenting. I gaurantee that no other tuner puts in the same time and effort and the results show it.

It's a two day down time. What I'm doing is going to work next day airing via ups, having a co worker drop me off at home, the next day tork will flash it and next day air it back, I'll have my wife drop me off at work and co worker take me home, next day I'll have my ecu back.

Id like to update this. After excuse after excuse John couldn't deliver. I will be working with BTR on my tuning needs.

Can a Mod update the title? If you can just change it to Disregard Thread lol.
 
@DaBears4Lyfe keep us posted. I haven't heard much as of late on BTR, but I would like a tuning option pronto...

Color me shocked that after 2 years of big talk and constant drama, there is only 1 tenth between quickest tork tuned car vs piggy back car officially on the 1/4. With Lap 3 and BTR about to release their ECU tunes, Tork is sunk in the stinger community.

No they wont release any information. According them and another Vendor they told me they fear Tork will take their info. I dont think you will get to know much information unless you are there while they do the tuning.

Why is that? I wanted to work with tork they couldnt deliver because they cant tune for catless cars still. After months (almost 6) of continual excuses I have decided to not work with them. I wanted to update this thread.

I guess we will have to see your results then. But saying you can adjust X or Y doesn't make it any more steal-able. Just helps sell units.

I think I may have another tenth to drop but Angels time is amazingly fast. My 11.87 was at 116.7 and I've also trapped 118.5 on a blown launch. I've only had 4 good runs so far, and think I can get into the 11.7s. One more month before my next outing at IFO.

Sounds like LAP3 / BTR will make about 440 HP (no WMI) but curious to see if they unlocked any other changes to get the times down.
