I’m new here and need to share with someone who won’t take away my keys and ground me from my car (wife).

Launch control is awesome! I only did it once today because I read in the manual that doing it often can be bad for the car. I just bought my 21 2.0T last week. After watching videos and reading the owners manual, I put it to the test this morning on an empty straightaway. Initially I messed it up but then realized I somehow forgot to put it in sport mode.

Perfect way to start my day. Highly recommend, will do again.

If you happen to be reading this and haven’t looked it up, allow me to save you the time:

1. Turn on the car and allow to warm to normal operating temperature, don’t do cold.
2. Turn on Sport Mode
3. Press and hold the traction control button (near the sport mode nob by the shifter) for three seconds until you hear a chime and your dash will tell you that traction control is OFF.
4. While at a complete stop, press the brake with your left foot and then apply the gas with your right.
5. Once you’ve reached about 2100 RPMs, another chime and dash signal will alert you that you’ve activated launch control.
6. Release the brake and hold on tight!

Ah, one small alteration for next time: 3. hold the traction control/stability control button down long enough to hear it beep twice, c. 5 seconds: you should have both TC/SC OFF.

I have the GT-Line with the 2.0T, and it pushes me back into the seat whenever I use launch control. I can't imagine how the V6 would feel like
From June 2019 until now, I think I have used launch control probably more than a hundred times, but I haven't counted, just an assumption.

I can tell you that I test drove a V6 and that's what I wanted because that was jaw dropping after driving a Forte. The 2.0 gave me enough for the money but my next car will likely be a GT2.
