Anyone running 285s or 275s on a 10.5 inch wheel by chance? I'm interested to see how stretched they may be.

I'm trying to decide if I need 285s to avoid the stretch look or if 275s will suffice.

Look at the specs on the tire manufacturers site - they list the acceptable rim width for each size. The same size may not work on the same rim for every tire, and the stock Pilot sports with those shaped sidewalls might be especially sensitive to rim width.

Had 285s on my 20x10.5 on my previous car and the stretch was not bad, however I would've preferred a 295 as that would not have looked too stretched.

So here's my delima. Hopefully someone can help with.

Getting a set of wheels 20x10.5 +45.

Tire options are 275, 285, and 295. I don't want it to look like a Honda Civic rocking 225s on a 10" wheel. I also don't want it to stick out beyond the fender.

So I know with 285s it would poke out a bit and I would need to lower it to fix that visual blemish. But I don't know if I'd be able to lower it (Eibach springs-0.8" advertised drop) with those sized wheels/tires. I saw one person's setup in here with 285s that stick out way too much and drastically needs to be lowered. I have no problem lowering the car, I just want to make sure it's feasible.

Those that have swapped out the wheels/tires how much room you got under there?

If the wheel and tire stick out beyond the fender, then you have the wrong wheel offset. You need to either increase the offset of reduce the wheel width. A 295 tire will fit a 10.5 perfect.

Anyone running 10.5s on their Stinger that can chime in here?

I would think 275 on a 10.5 in wheel is really stretched and 285 would be slightly better but still a bit stretched. haven't done anything to wheels for this car, yet...but on a previous car i had 305 on the 10.5 and sidewall even to the wheel.

I should have updated this. I found a guy on IG with 10.5" wheels and a 275 Nitto NT555G2. His car looks great and tire stretching doesn't look too bad.

However, I went ahead and ordered 285 Continental ExtremeContact Sports. I found out today they are on backorder with no date of arrival in sight so I went back to the G2s.

I'll post a pic of how much the 285 Nittos are stretched on a 10.5" wheel when I get them.

that doesn't look stretched at all!!! The showroom model at the KIA dealer had a 275 on a 10.5 and the wheel protruded about a half inch from the sidewall. 285 is safe, i think....

For those interested here's what my 285 Nitto NT555G2 look like on a 10.5" wheel. Not much stretch, if any at all. The G2 may be one of many tires that run on the wide side. Whatever the case I'm happy with how they turned out.

@Kamauxx looks just about right...seems like the Nitto tires are a wider tire, maybe...

what wheels?

lol...I was looking at the Vertini rf1.3...but now trying to decide between the rf1.3 and vertini dynasty

It was pretty hard for me to decide between the 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. They are nearly identical.

The Dynasty is really nice too, especially with the deep concave.

Hankook Ventus v12 evo’s. I’d recommend a 285 on a 10.5 wheel as it’s not stretched and you get a bit more sidewall and more compliant ride than the 275.
