3.3TT Tightening a Loose Door Check Link Nut

Anyone had this happen to their Stinger? Mine did, and the door started squeaking and clacking during opening and closing.

Pop the cover off and you'll see a silver nut and bolt at the top and bottom. The top nut on mine had become completely loose.

Tightened it and that fixed the problem.

how did you notice? when the door was ajar was the linkage out of alignment, in other words, was the loosening visible?
 
There was no free play on the linkage. Nothing appeared loose.

However when I placed a finger on the area circled and moved the door back and forth I could feel it wobbling it a bit. That told me something behind it had come loose.

By the way, this issue occurred on the passenger side.

At least it's not like the Tesla recall, where they forgot to put the steering wheel nut on!
 
^^Tesla just trying to advance itself. No needs for a steering wheel in a self driving car.......
