Is there anyone that uses 20" tires or rims?

The recommended size is 19" but the more I research (not a professional or very technical), it seems like 19" is more of a niche size.

So my question is, can a 2018 Stinger GT2 RWD run 20" rims / tires without any issues or is only 19" recommended?

Mechanic informed me that if you change tire sizes, it could affect transmission, etc...down the line (basically saying to avoid if you can?).

I would get a new mechanic.

You can run 20" wheel and many people do. It is really tire diameter that matters so running a bigger wheel means you must use a shorter sidewall tire. This will generally mean a stiffer ride as the tire will not adsorb as much of the bumps and, for the same reason, will be more prone to being bent.

Definitely recommend you find another "mechanic".

The SEMA Fed Orange Stinger had 20" wheels.

OD is all that matters as far as the rest of the car "knowing" is concerned. I would not run 20" wheels because I already wince whenever I hit a higher or lower point in the road and my whole car goes "bam". A 20" rim would bend most likely, where the 19" has an extra 1/2" of sidewall before the bend can happen.

For reference I ran 20x10" rims with a 275/35-20 tire on my Genesis coupe (before the stinger) for years. Ride was slightly harsher but reasonable, i did bend one wheel in about 5 years of PA driving. The stinger is about 600lbs heavier, so harder on wheels.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Here in germany you can oder a 20"-package from dealer: Front 8,5 X 20 ET32, Rear 8,5 X 20 ET38. Tires are 225/35 and 255/30.

Germany has many restrictions for rims and wheels.
If it´s not an official listed part you had to go to TÜV (automotive expert). They say "OK" or not, and you can install or NOT :(:mad:

I had to goto TÜV to checkout Rims 8,5 x 19 ET35 with 245/40 and 9,5 x 19 ET40 with 275/35. Hard discussions but successful. No problems with space or diameters but: Not listed -> official checkout...:poop:
