HOLY CRAP, Crowley Kia are a bunch of jerks - or more accurately, the manager is a massive jerk. The salesman I was dealing with is fine.

In trying to get this sealed, I've had a couple of dealers inquiring about cars. They wanted me to show up with CASH - not give a credit card over the phone, but withdraw and bring CASH, or wire them the funds for the down payment, either of which gives me NO protection, and carrying that much cash is rather dangerous and besides, I'd need to file forms asking Uncle Sam for permission to withdraw my own money because of our moronic unwinnable war on drugs, so it would take days for me to withdraw that much from a personal account in cash after filling out forms asking "mother may I."

I'm trying to get this purchase done and over with after putting it off waiting for Kia to get the car right and I was hoping to be driving the car tomorrow or Friday; I had actually put in for the day off tomorrow to drive to Bristol to make it happen.

Because I mentioned to them I've also been talking to other dealers, they refunded my deposit and refuse to sell me a car.

Funny, the local dealer had no problem with my calling around. Crowley are a bunch of snowflakes. Good grief. Do you refuse to sell to every customer who happens to be comparison shopping with other vendors? Y'all are a bunch of amateurs, and in fact, the meltiest snowflakes of all.

No f&Y#$iung wonder Kia have struggled to move these cars; their dealers f#&Ying SUCK. I am ready to buy a Stinger GT2 in Micro Blue or Black or Panthera Metal Kia TODAY and your dealers all f%^&ing suck, Kia.

The car isn't selling well because Kia dealers like you F$#%^@* SUCK!

Did everything end up coming together okay? I'm assuming so by your profile picture you got a new one? I had a great dealership experience here in MN, but every dealership is different.

Oh yeah - the dealer I wanted to buy from (and who encouraged me to shop around because they didn't expect a GT2 in until late August) ended up having an allocation come in weeks earlier than expected and by then I had seen a C8 in a color very similar to Ceramic Silver and decided I liked it, at least on the C8, so I bought it sight unseen and got back to Maine and drove it home the next day. :)

Haha. Keep looking. Hope you get a good dealer.

Thats awesome! I love that color too. I had a similar scenario where I wanted an ascot green one, but the one the dealer was getting was supposed to have the beige interior and I wanted nothing to do with that. I then saw they were getting a ceramic silver one with red leather, so I told them I'd wait the extra two weeks for it. Well the green one showed up and had black interior and now I couldn't be happier! :D Is yours a scorpion edition by chance?

DAMN! Yeah that thing is hot. I love the decals too. I'm not sure if you're one to drive in manual mode much but I heard with the electric shift cars you cant stay locked in manual mode, do you know if they changed that for 2022?

Yes, the 2022 reverts to automatic if you come to a stop, or if you pull both handles back and release the left one then the right. I shift more often than not, and I don't find it obtrusive. I've gotten used to the fact that it reverts to drive at a red light and just pull the left paddle to select 1. Unless I am coming to a stop or deliberatly pull that pattern with the paddle shifters, it remains in manual mode. It does block downshifts when appropriate to prevent grenading the engine.

I am getting terrible fuel mileage, but great smileage. :D

I was wrong; if I leave it in manual for a bit and hit the throttle, it does downshift automatically.
If I upshift and then nail it, it stays in the desired gear, but I need to hit it almost immediately.
I hadn't noticed this behavior previously because I tend to be actively shifting.

To revert back to automatic, you can simply pull and hold the right paddle.

Thats one reason I wanted a GT1 car, is when you slap it over to manual mode it stays there no matter what. Such a weird change from GT1 to GT2 in that regard.

I'd love to be able to order it with a 7-speed manual - that would be an amazing ride on twisty mountain roads.

My god, I wish! I came from 3 different manual cars before getting my stinger so not having a 3rd pedal is a bit weird sometimes.

^^For the first 2 weeks I had the same problem. Chrome pedals were identical to those in my infiniti. Everytime I went to start the car, left foot would press on that fake pedal.

Air clutching? :D

Are you also air shifting over the console, or are you hitting the air clutch as you work the paddles? :D
