I know not everybody is going to like it - want to go - or even have the ability to go. But right now I am heavily leaning toward the northern middle of America and around either one of these very large auto shows.

In our "where" discussion - I keep seeing a LOT of positive responses to Chicago. Perhaps nobody from South Florida will go. Perhaps nobody from San Diego will go. Perhaps nobody from San Antonio will go. However, it'll be fairly easy for everyone as far away as mid-to-northern California, New York, and everything in-between -- and of course, Canada...

So I'm going to start this off by seeing which date/event works best for all those who are apparently happy with these locations...

We one are you leaning toward?

The city in Chicago is a fabulous place with great wine bars, five star restaurants, and excellent accommodations. It's a place you can bring your family and explore.

Detroit has General Motor's "Ren Cen" - the Renaissance Center. It has pretty much everything - great restaurants, wine bars, and even a movie theater. Nearby is a nice Casino. It's been a while since I've been to either location - but I hear Detroit is building up very quickly - so there's likely more to do than there was last I went years ago...

These are the places I've stayed for auto shows...

Let's see, Chicago or Detroit in the heart of winter..I think I'll pass on this one. Hope there's a great turnout.

Yeah, Chicago is not good in February. That is usually when I get away from the cold city and go to warmer climes!

Agreed. Either choice could be hectic with summer tires and RWD.

Could be cool for the AWD guys though.

Also, whenever I take a road trip I like to wash my car when I reach my destination. Washing a car in 20 degree weather could be a little painful.

Somewhere in the southern Midwest might be a good compromise. It would be a central location and have a better chance at mild weather. (Nashville, Little Rock, Memphis, Oklahoma City)

Traveling in the midwest during those times is asking for people to get in an accident. Specially for those not used to driving in inclement weather..

I have lived here all my life and every time it snows or gets nasty people lose their mind.. And these people live here..

It's farther for me, but something about having it at Kia's factory in GA feels right...especially if Kia corporate could use the fact it's their own property to really go all out. I also like the idea of some sort of Stinger-specific venue where we might be able to do a little organized driving event, i.e., a 1/4mi track rented out, etc. I personally would prefer a warmer time than Jan/Feb, unless it's in a mild climate. My 2 cents :)

Yeah the locations and shows sound great, but agree with others and think the potential for snow will eliminate most RWD Stingers.:(

I think it should be held in conjunction with a car meet where you can display your Stinger. If we held it at the factory or new car show, we would be showing in some parking lot with no other traffic. Something like Turkey Run, which is held twice a year at the Daytona Motor Speedway.

Just as an FYI the GA plant doesn’t even do tours so I’m not sure how public friendly the plant would be for an event.

Chicago has my vote (although I am biased) - but just not February. Most miserable month of the year here

Winter in either city sucks a whole lotta arse! I say Detroit but I live 30 minutes from downtown! :)
