Hi Everyone! This is my first post here. I have a 2018 Stinger GT2 RWD, and recently ordered the JB4, HKS Spark Plugs, HPS Intakes, ADD W1 BOV's, and the Borla S Type Cat Back Exhaust with the carbon fiber tips as well. I was also interested in the Jun Bl catless secondary downpipes, but am running into 2 issues. First I've heard that the Borla cat-back is one of the louder exhausts for the stinger and if I add the downpipe I don't want to raspy of a note or drone. Secondly, I've read some forums saying that if you pair the JB4 with a secondary cat delete you may run into over boosting, limp mode, or CEL. I'd love to try out the Jun Bl downpipes but the stinger is my daily driver and I'm shooting for longevity. Does anyone know if ill run into any of those issues? Especially the over-boosting or limp mode. If anyone could get back to me id love some advice! The next step for the Stinger is wheels/tires and the front lip and rear diffuser.

Welcome aboard! I’m going to move this into the high performance section as it’s more of a question about performance upgrades than an introduction.

Borla tips are no good. Waste of money.

Howdy and jump right in. :P

For the love of God return the Borla carbon fiber tips….
You can’t be vicariously allergic to another’s CF…maybe if made from peanuts…

Keep your lips off the tips, brah. Maybe a banana will firm up your shtool

If you plan on getting the secondary downpipes you should also plan on getting the EWG wires for the JB4 as it allows the JB4 to directly control the wastegates. That will fix any overboost or underboost problems you may have.

Thanks for the advice!

Thanks for the advice!
You may have to adjust some settings on the JB4 to get everything working properly but just post another thread once you have everything set up and you have any questions.

Will do! I should have everything installed sometime this week. I'll record some logs once I do and post them here and send them to Burger Motorsports as well. Again thanks for the response!

I have the jun Bl Downpipes and mbrp cat. Loveee the combo. Im not tuned yet but ive never hit limp mode, and codes or boost issues. I also have KN intakes as well.

i am curious why folks change out their air intakes. whats wrong with the stock ones? what difference does it make to the car putting aftermarket ones in?

The factory intake is restrictive especially at higher power levels, you gain 20-30hp upgrading it.

damn, thats a lot. almost 400hp just from adding aftermarket air intakes!
so the car comes from the factory the way it does; all the parts are "tuned" together.
when changing something like air intakes for AM ones, does that change anything else that the car was originally "tuned" to?
like, the system is expecting what it gets from the stock air intakes; is it a shock to the system when it starts receiving more air than before? surely that puts something outta whack.

That's not it: OEM intakes are bog standard unattractive. :P

Don’t quote me on this but I think the vehicle PCM adjust accordingly to the increase in airflow from the aftermarket intakes increasing power. No tune needed for increased HP.

Hey Lane Powell

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your first post!

I personally love the sound of the Borla exhaust paired with secondary downpipes but it is on the louder side.

You should not run into any overboosting or CEL issues with this exhaust combination and no tune is required either.
