Stinger GT Arrivals in Australia

As person above said, the dealer's order was earlier than mine was, I'm getting a car that the dealership ordered significantly before I actually spoke to them, so presumably it's either a cancellation or just one they ordered to have in stock, not certain on that part.

Oh, my mistake, sorry. Crikey, that's one of the longest overall waits of people posting in this thread.

What specs for your car? I doubt it would make any difference, but maybe there's a shortage of something when it comes to one of the paint or interior colours?

I got the 330s with V6, micro blue, standard black interior
(I think this is a GT in the rest of the world for international readers)

So nothing exotic I would have thought.

I think they just prioritised all the police force cars as they bought a few hundred of these since I ordered. Make all theirs first as it is worth more to them.

Not many people order the 330S - maybe the factory produces cars in batches of all the same trim level and they’re waiting for enough 330S orders to accumulate before producing a batch?

Maybe the dealer gets more commission off GTs so they’ve prioritised GTs when placing orders with KIA?

Yeah that all sounds feasible KAS. They did say not many 330s are ordered most are gt as you said. I'm sure it will now get built with the police order.

Have to say, I’m a little suspicious about when my dealer actually placed my order. I put my order through in June 21, and as of last week Kia HQ advised it wasn’t even in production as yet. Seems strange that other orders placed later last year are now being produced and delivered.

Received another update today that my Stinger is build and is about to be loaded on a ship for transport to Australia. Eta early May now.

If it helps with the hype, mine went from "has a build slot soon in the Kia portal" to already at the dealership ready for collection (picking up next week) within less than 1 month, so you may get yours quite a bit sooner than May!

I'm near Melbourne, original ETA was end of April, which got changed to end of March, and I believe the car arrived yesterday, so ready for pickup on Tuesday.

Dropped my plates off at the dealer yesterday so I'm ready, if it will be here any earlier that is only a bonus.

FYI Harlequin, I read you were in Brisbane like myself. Well today I was notified by Kia that my Stinger had arrived in the country on Friday, so should be at the dealers any day now.
I would assume your car would be on the same shipment. Fingers crossed!

Collected today, incredible car. Resisting the urges during the 1000km break-in will be a challenge, but I'm going to try to knock those out as soon as possible.

To anyone still waiting on theirs, I'm sure it will be worth it!

I was just updated by Kia that my has changed to unscheduled again today. 14 months now and still no closer. Apparently a lot of Kia cars in general changed production status today due to lack of parts.

That's terrible news mate, I'm very sorry to hear that, especially given how long you've waited already. I'm only assuming you'd be pretty pissed off with that news, but you're fully entitled to be.

To go for so long without any status info is damn annoying - and then to get this gut punch.

But hang in there. You've waited this long already. When it does arrive, it'll be brand spanking new, with the latest & greatest of everything. Hang in there.

I too feel for you mate and good on you for wishing everyone else congrats. 14 months is way too long and I can’t work out how it isn’t done on an order by order basis!
