• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Stinger GT Arrivals in Australia

I think, in Australia, Panthera was originally only available on the 4 cylinder models - it wasn't an available option on the 6 until the 2021 model year.
Thats right i do remember now the V6 went to Nz but not here back then.

Panthera Metal was also available in lower spec V6: 330si & 330i but not GT or GT Line.

I actually requested Panthera first for mine, but was told the wait would be too long and a Ceramic Grey one would arrive earlier, so I've swapped to that.
When speaking with my dealer yesterday, given the 12-month wait I'd had, I asked how many Stingers had come through with my delivery.
Dealer said only 2 - they've still got about 30 orders to get through.

Man, you've been on here a good while. That, was a long wait. :D
Thank you Merlin.
Yes, it's been a long time, and I was getting quite jack of it all around December given I still had no info whatsoever regarding timeframe, build no. or anything.

I said to the dealer, "Do you think it's actually gonna happen? I'm hearing rumours that production will cease, and that if it's not built yet it may never be." (Mind you, I caveated all that with saying I know it's not the dealer's fault, and I'm sure that if they could take my money they would.)

Dealer said that Kia was still taking orders in limited numbers, and their advice was that production would continue for at least another two years.

Anyway, it's here now and I'm happy. Like I said, it's a Jan 2022 build so you can't get much newer than that, prices have increased by about $4K since I ordered but I still got it at the agreed price, and the MY21s delivered to Oz during the past 12 months had the original oval-shaped Kia logo whereas this one has the all-new badging, so the wait was worth it and I'm a lucky boy.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Good to hear that they expect production to continue beyond 2022.

Looks great! There seems to be a blue or white light in the footwell and I'm wondering if the colour is linked to the ambient lighting on the doors and dash. Would you mind please changing your ambient lighting colour for a minute and let us know if the light in the footwell changes as well? Thank you.
Hi KAS - checked that out this evening.

The footwell lighting is just white light. It does not appear to be linked to the ambient lighting colour.

Note the red illumination at the centre console area is a reflection from the red light in the door panel - there's not illumination at that centre console section. Didn't notice that at the time until I looked at this photo.

My August '21 build has the new logo. I'm pretty sure that was the changeover month, at least for Australia.

Thanks very much for checking that for me.

I'm a bit puzzled about the footwell lighting. My pre-facelift car had a very dim (and yellowish - likely an incandescent globe) light in the front footwells. I then had the LED footwell lighting dealer-fit accessory installed and the light is much brighter and the colour looks like an LED. Judging by your photos, it seems the facelift Stingers come with LED footwell lighting as standard, even though it isn't mentioned in the KIA brochure.

Was your pre-facelift car a GT? I have a 2017 build GT that has LED footwell lights.
No the best of pictures but you can clearly see white of the LED‘s on the pedals.

Right, okay, that's quite interesting isn't it. Surprising that they'd be using incandescents even in 2019. LEDs always seem to be promoted as God's gift to lighting - so compact, so efficient, etc etc.

I've had a look in my footwell. Was your factory lighting, and is your current lighting, a setup similar to this?

I ordered a GT in Panthera Metal with black interior in early Nov '21. The dealer advised that they were able to order a few Stingers in early Jan '22, and are hoping to order some more in mid March, which he said was encouraging.

My footwell lighting is the genuine KIA Stinger Footwell Lighting accessory and looks completely different from yours:

I must be one of the lucky ones....I decided to buy a stinger mid Fed 2022 and after a few hours of ringing around I secured a ceramic grey with red interior and pick it up Sun 6/3/22. Afer reading how long everyone is waiting it must have just been pure luck, a cancelled order perhaps.

Did you manage to get it for MSRP? There are a fair few floating around in Australia, but dealerships are trying to ask for $75-85k for them in some instances.

Yeah I got it at the price on the Kia website, the deal that was just under $70k.
