Stinger Forum Rear Side Window Decals

Shipping is by regular mail. When I say I ship immediately, "ridiculously fast shipping" - it means I don't wait around until the end of the day, when I get around to going to the post office. I get the order shipped immediately. I haven't been sending these pieces via overnight mail. However long it takes a typical letter to get to somebody where it's shipped from Florida, that's the time it'll take to get the decal...

Your only 4 hours from me so I'm surprised it's not here already LOL

A couple of things...

1. They can't go on the inside of the glass because most people have tint - and you would not see the decal on the outside.
2. As mentioned, weathering is not an issue. These are very high quality pieces and will stay stuck and looking new until somebody tries to pull them off.
3. These aren't printed from some cheap Vistaprint kind of company - or in China. They're printed in my hometown by a company who does very good work. If they become a popular item and I sell the 50 pieces that I have, I'll place a larger order next time, to bring down the price...

I asked because I’m comparing cost of these to what I’ve spent before. Here is an example, $3 for a pair of 5” decals.

Audizine Online Store

As I said above. I’ve had these on my A4 for 6 years so they’re not cheap.

Yep,we know but the other international postal services are never in a hurry, Australian postal system is the worst. Thats why we call it snail mail.

I've had stuff arrive at my home in Sydney quicker from the US (via USPS) than I have from Brisbane (1000km away) via Australia Post.

My guess is they're buying their decals in a very high quantity - probably 1000 at a time - and getting a great price. And the owner can surely afford to do that. They've been online for 18 years, have 286,213 members, 13,252,296 posts, 800,550 discussions and there are currently 1400 users online. The ad revenue and store are easily generating six figure annual revenue (and that figure does not begin with a 1)...

I'm sure they do purchase in large quantities. Audizine serves the entire Audi community.

And "No" is a completely acceptable answer to my initial question because as I said, I have no idea what the numbers look like on your end. I'm just going based on my Audizine experience where they were sold in pairs, different colors and <$10 (they were more than $3 when I purchased mine).

So why did the decal come out rounded in the details as compared to the forum logo?

I'm not sure, but it is what it is. That's what they were able to do. They gave some explanation that I didn't understand and if it's important, I'll try to get a clear answer.

I can answer that: You want the integrity of the design to show up far enough away to tell what it is. If you "faithfully" produced what looks good on a page from a couple of feet away, then at a distance and moving the acutely pointed ends of the arcs in the car and ends of the letters would disappear; making the car indistinct a lot closer than it could be. The window decal is for viewing while traveling, not standing close enough to the Stinger to admire it at arm's length. So rounding the acute ends makes their original length visible from further away.

That's a craptastic explanation. If I can make them identical so can the supplier of choice.

You're missing the issue: it's a professional design decision to make the decals VISIBLE in the venue. They are small. The only thing a passing motorist will see is swatches of white that make no sense; because the ends of acutely pointed curves will "disappear". When you fatten up the ends, the entire length of each white line from the original design are preserved. Sure, standing still right up close, the modified (enhanced visibility) design looks pudgy and poor compared to the original. But the original sucks for seeing what it is at any sort of distance, and while moving.

Aha. So who is looking at a side window decal at a distance and while moving? Really? Nevermind. If you want to believe that it's all about enhanced visibility, that's all you.

I'll stick with, hmmm I bet it's a lot easier to weed the decal with fattened ends than pointed curves... No one will ever notice the difference!
