Stinger discontinued in 2022

Surprised that there isn't a thread for this yet. How do you feel about this? I sold my Stinger last year, but I am a little bummed about this. I would have liked to have seen what they would have done with the Stinger moving forward, but I guess the sales numbers were not high enough to develop the Stinger into a higher performance vehicle (either NA or EV).

I guess the existing Stingers will have the rarity appeal for a while, but I feel like that may wear off pretty quickly, similar to the Pontiac G8 when Pontiac was killed off. Either way, it is certainly a bittersweet ending for Kia's coolest car yet.

It’s true guys the stinger is dead. Production has not stopped yet but it will.

What will that do as far as ownership goes?

There are no laws in America that state a manufacturer must keep a supply of parts.

Do you think Kia will be loyal to the car that made all this possible?

Everyone who says "it's true" offers nothing more than the rumors. Of course "it's dead" but still being produced. Everything is DEAD, it just takes a while.

When production in fact does cease, we have enough Stingers sold to warrant the needed parts for years. Between now and that day, the parts "bin" is still being stocked, making the time when parts will be available even longer. Probably this car will only be challenging to find parts for long after I am myself dead and gone.

This engine technology and versatility in the ‘22 GT-Line is something we have never got in a popular brand.

I am using my car differently than ever before in my life, and it is damn hard to top the ‘22 GT-Line.

Think of all the people who buy used cars. They still get parts, don't they? People still buy previous generation Accords, Fusions, Civics, Mustangs, Camaros, Camrys, Corollas, etc. In many cases the previous generations don't share any parts with the current generation. Yet people still buy them and parts are still available.

People are still buying current generation WRXs even though a new one is coming out in a few months. They aren;t worried about parts availability, so why should we?

I know, bro. I’m sick of this stupid rabble. If I wanted a ubiquitous, common sports car that EVERYBODY owns- I’d still have a Mustang. While I’d certainly have wanted the Stinger to be successful enough to survive, it is, and will always be a niche car. Whether it makes a ton of money for Kia has nothing to do with why I love it. People are cheapskates, that’s why they buy K5’s or Forte’s- it’s not the Stingers fault. Whether it lives or dies, we’ll still have ours- and that’s all that flippin matters. This discontinuation story is non-news! As far as I’m concerned go ahead and discontinue it- I’ll be that much more original on the road!! Just like the Chevlolet Corvair, Pontiac Firebird, the old AMC muscle cars, on and on, the Stinger will always have a fan base, and we’ll still eat most of the pedestrian “successful” garbage that’s on the damn road!

This car reminds me of the chevy SS. Also a sort of niche car. Looks like a rental fleet impala, but is anything but. Available for 5 years, 2013 until 2017.
