Stinger build page is active

I asked the rep yesterday if the 0% rate running on their TV ads was valid on the Stinger, and he said, "Depending on your credit rating." So, yes. Sure beats my bank, and I get a preferred rate there. I didn't ask if there was a required down payment amount on that. Anyone know?

No clue if there is a required down payment or not. But look at the deal closely if they really offer it on the stinger. I just checked Kia's offer page. The stinger is not listed. However the deal on a 2017 optima was 0% or 3000.00 cash back. Depending on your bank rate, it might make more sense to take the 3k. My credit union has a calculator that will tell you which is the better option. Plug in all the numbers and it spits out a graph and what not. The calculator shows in the case of the optima you would be far better off to take the 3k.

Thanks! This is very helpful. My comfort zone is to stick with my bank. This calculator will hopefully give me justification for whatever I end up doing.

ASCC is listed as an option on all trims, yet I don't see any way to add it on the configurator.
My guess is that they are missing a package - while $2k isn't cheap, there's already a lot of tech in 'Wise' package. Though adding a package that only includes ASCC does not make a package so maybe there's a few more tech options that would go into said new package.

I'm just not seeing enough extra standard equipment to justify the price jumps between the 3 GT packages... something's off still IMHO.

Anyone know when Genesis will start rolling out the G70? Or probably they want only one vehicle at a time, and not create extra confusion with the Stinger and G70 becoming available at the same time...?
Welcome aboard, @JeffAsfbay! Thank you for signing up. I'm not quite sure when the G70 will be available, but your best bet is to subscribe HERE and keep your ears opened. I'm not sure why the Stinger is being released ahead of the G70 - but maybe Hyundai wants to see how things go with this platform that the Stinger rides on - and watch whatever bugs get worked out before they launch their G70. That would probably be a wise decision...

Been lurking here for awhile so I finally signed up to post. Been waiting for this car since it was announced at the auto show. Looking at the build page I'm not real happy with the chosen color choices and interior options. Why can I not get white with red interior when it was one of the first color combos shown at the auto show. Hope that changes or the panthera is available with red

Welcome aboard, @Andrsn! And thank you for signing up. I'm pretty sure Kia isn't including all the colors on the "build" page yet as the full batch isn't yet available to us here in the U.S. I'm confident the range of colors will open up in time. Worst case scenario, they may have been gauging which colors to make available based on opinions from the cars they left here for show. So, some combinations probably won't be available. I imagine only the most popular color combinations will make it here. I believe it's a matter of simplicity for the manufacturer. In any event, I hope you can get exactly what you want when all is said and done.

What car would the Stinger be replacing?

Your probably right just thinking white and red should be a no brainer on color combo. Hate to wait even longer but if it comes close to the g70 release I might as well wait to check that out. I drive a maxima now and a mountaineer so it will replace one of those with whatever I keep becoming my work car.

The Maxima is always nice. Mercury Mountaineer? Wow, I haven't seen one of those in a long time. I imagine Stinger will make a better replacement for the Maxima. I think Genesis Motors is waiting to see how things go with the release of the Stinger before bringing the G70 to market. It kind of IS wise to let Kia work out any bugs first...

very cool. seems like the gt1 would be perfect for me. all the extra safety technologies offered as a package would be nice but not necessary after driving a car with abs as its only "safety technology" for the past 10 years.

The mountaineer is really just used for winter so it just sits there most of the year and the maxima is used for work driving it all around with tools thrown everywhere. I'm definitely upgrading with a stinger or g70.

...and I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I'm guessing the G70 will about $5k more than the Stinger in all models. Somewhere around there. I do like the design language of Genesis Motors cars but the Stinger is definitely more of an eye catcher...

I would have to agree (with a little hope it is correct ;)) as I am on record as considering both models for my next purchase as well.

Before I knew the Stinger's final cost I would have ballparked the G70 where the Stinger ended up landing in the US. Now I really don't know where they will go.

Adding 5k to the GT2 AWD to get you to the G70 3.3T Sport AWD price point puts you within $1400 of the G80 Sport AWD. I can't imagine the gap being that small. The G90 3.3T AWD is $9600 more than G80 Sport AWD.

I would like to think that it'll be about 3k more than a Stinger. I don't see them wanting the G80 Sport and G70 Sport to be THAT close in price.

The stinger is higher then I anticipated as well. Today I went and test drove an Audi s4, a5, and s5 sportbacks. Their warranty is not like a stinger and I'm sure repair costs will be hefty. But its a luxury brand... hard to shell out the same money for a kia.

They just don't have the same brand appeal as a known luxury or performance car. I will need to test drive a stinger before I make a choice but I think if the price was 50k out the door I would of jumped on it no questions asked.

The price of the Genesis G80 and G90 will increase with the release of the G70.

To note, the price of the 1990 Lexus LS400 gradually rose in 1989...
I doubt that, they're not exactly flying off the lots. I could be wrong, but that would likely be shortsighted. Most people I talk to don't even know that Genesis is a thing.

I think that something that @Kia Stinger said at one point may be true. They may just be trying to get more people into the stores to buy other vehicles. It is either that or they built in enough price for the future subsidy when it doesn't sell that well. I was looking at a Cadenza today and the residual is 17k. That is awful for a 45k vehicle. My 30k Optima had a residual of 14k. I guess that is why they're offering 10k lease cash.

That may be true but I was on vacation in Orlando this past week and every other car is a Genesis. Seriously they are everywhere. Now I hardly saw any while I was in New York for a few days and I didn't really take notice earlier in the year in Houston, Texas but I think I would have remembered seeing them if I saw a lot. But for goodness sake they're everywhere in Florida. So somebody is buying them.
