I recently picked up a fpse undertray and splitter, it says it requires splitter rods for installation but I am unsure on where to connect the rods for the most rigidity. I have seen that some connected theirs to the the bumper and others to the lower grill, are either strong enough to withstand the downforce and wind? I was thinking of mounting the rods to the crash bar, is that a good idea or should I just stick to the traditional mounting points? If anyone running splitter rods on their stingers could upload a picture that would be very helpful.

another micro blue locally has a splitter way in the heck out there with those stupid looking rods holding onto it. why would you want to mess up your car doing this? it's so ricer. but if you must you must. and if I were crazy about the look, believe it, I would never attach them to the bumper cover or grille. if your going to do it make it real, which means attaching to the crash bar if that's the closest solid metal attachment location.

Trust me I’m not one for the look either, I rather have it sleek in the front without the rods but the front splitter I have requires the rods as it pulls the bumper down separating it from the lower grill. I think I might switch them out and get cables instead as it has a smaller profile.

Did you ever figure out location for mounting splitter rods? I'm in the same situation.

I ended up mounting the rods onto the front crash bar. After some research I had found a civic owner do it without comprising the warranty or drilling any holes into the bumper. Here’s the link to his thread, you do have to scroll down a bit to find it.

Heres the link to my thread with pictures of my setup for reference too.
