Hey guys!

I have some very stupid questions about the car I bought recently. Please answer whatever you can.

1) The car claims to have D-AWD, which I think means I can go from AWD to pure RWD. How do I do that? I am aware about launch control and how to put it in Drift mode. But can I drive it as a regular RWD without turning of traction control?
2) Im not able to get the sticker for the 2019 Orange GTS. I see on some website that its MSRP was above 53K. Is that true? Why is there such a difference between that car and my car? Is that based off a GT2 (Like mine is based off a GT?).
3) This is more of a tech question. My side mirrors are set to "Auto". Which means I should expect them to open up when I walk by it. I think it did open up from the first couple of days but now it just does not. I know for sure the setting is set to Auto. Is there anything else I might have turned off? There has been no damage to the car at all.
4) I am planning to get Full front xpel PPF installed and full car ceramic coating. I am going to pay 2500$ + taxes for the same. Is that an ok deal? Im sure its not the best deal, but is it atleast around the avrage?
5) Car maintenance question : Here is my situation - I stay in an apartment complex where I am not allowed to wash my car. So i probably need to take it some place else and wash my car. I may/maynot have access to running water. Any car washing kit you recommend I buy to wash my car?

Thanks a lot for reading the post! Would be great if you could share your 2 cents on topics you are familiar with.

1: No other way to be rwd other than the launch/drift mode procedures of turning off tcs and esc that I know of.
2: it is based off of a regular gt as well. here is a used one for sale now: https://www.kia.com/us/services/en/windowsticker/load/KNAE35LC6K6070406 (you can pop any vin in to see the window sticker fyi)
3: Hmm.. faulty switch? does it start working if you manually flip the switch to fold in and back out then set it back to auto? Ours has been consistently working so far with almost 6k miles..
4: I didn't get a quote for the full xpel ppf but just 3 layers of ceramic coating + minor paint correction for around 1200$ so with the ppf.. i'd say average.
5: I've never done a waterless wash except spot cleaning with spray like griots speed shine... if it's very dirty i'd be wary of doing a waterless but if it's only a little dirty, i'd look at a good waterless wash products and see reviews online?

1: I agree with the poster above you can only run it in RWD by activating drift mode. The good news is that the AWD system is still RWD biased so sport mode will give you 80% power to the rear with comfort mode giving you 60% power to the rear.

2: Not sure on this one I'm in Canada where the models are different.

3: Agreed it sounds like a faulty switch or something, I'd get your dealer to check it out.

4: Again I'm in Canada so can't really talk to this.

5: People claim that "Optimum No-Rinse" is the best product for this. I've used it twice before with good results but I try to avoid products like that as much as possible because I believe they still cause scratches. If you were left with no other option I'd probably drive the car through a touchless wash then drive it home after and use the Optimum No-Rinse, yes it's expensive but chances are it will be a heck of a lot less likely to cause paint swirls.

one note... if you do the full xpel ppf and ceramic coat, then a waterless wash would definitely be less destructive due to the "self-healing" properties of the xpel film. of course, i'd assume this would mean shorter intervals of ceramic coat maintenance.

I believe that full frontal PPF averages $1.5K; and ceramic coat can easily be that much for a good quality job, so that is a fair price. But you can possibly find both for less (my full frontal PPF cost less than a thousand, for instance).

Washing at an apartment that does not allow water washing: Bucket(s). You can use the two-bucket method, or just change your bucket at least once. No need for a hose down. Optimum No Rinse (ONR) is my method. I use a gallon of distilled water, and usually add a half gallon more of hot soft water (very beneficial in the winter time!). Rubber gloves. Six, count 'em six, towels of white terrycloth at 14x16" size: drop a pair on the windshield, a pair on the sunroof and a pair on the hatch window; start from the top, do the glass first, and work down to the door sills (if necessary); wheels last. The white terrycloth allows you to monitor instantly how much dirt you're getting off; you flip to a clean surface of the towel the instant it comes up discolored; you have eight surfaces per towel; more than enough. Take the car to a hand (wand) wash place first and spray it down before using ONR, if it is quite dirty; if you keep up on this (once per week, and after each rain storm), you should reduce swirling to a bare minimum: and not have to get swirls taken out but once a year if that (my Silky Silver still looks great; but in hard slanting sunlight I can see very light swirling after 31 months in; perhaps next year I'll get some detailing done to remove the swirling for the first time).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
As far as your mirrors go, make sure the switch is in auto, AND you have either the left or right mirror selected.

I have read many posts (here and elsewhere) that unless you have the time to hand wash your car correctly, ceramic coating is not going to last as long or look as good then if you did wash it "properly". Since I am physically unable to do it, I just stick with the Adams spray on ceramic detailer, or their easy liquid wax (the yellow one).
