SoundHound integration on FM tuner (Oct 2022 update)

I did the update on my '22 GT1 this afternoon. The Soundhound icon was there and when I touched it, it spun and presented both the album art and the song name. I was never asked for any other info or account setup. Note that the was on an HD FM station in the US, and AFAIK I do NOT have a Soundhound account.

Tried it on my '19 GT1. Update installed, soundhound icon was there, and a "soundhound history" in the radio menu, but icon does absolutely nothing when I press it. Doesn't even spin.

Note: my UVO account was never really setup - and don't they want a monthly / yearly fee for it now?

Canada was free for first 5 years.

Yeah, I think it was free for 1 year in the US? For whatever reason, Stingers were an amazing value in Canada. Canada has sometimes had cooler cars (like Passat G60 Syncro, etc), but they've rarely been cheaper than in the US.

"Gloria" from level 2 support was.... Polite, but not helpful.

She explained that her department (LEVEL 2 SUPPORT) is NON-TECHNICAL, and they would have to refer the case to the "technical department"

D.J. - Can I speak with the technical department myself?
Gloria: no sir, it is an internal department.
Gloria: I will have to refer this case to them.
D.J.: Thank you, but wasn't that done on November 2nd when I called....
Gloria: Very politely, no, it doesn't look like it was.

Transfers me to "Tonu" who is "handling the case" (same level 2 department I assume).

Tonu - after reviewing the images...
Tonu - So you are pressing on the yellow thing?
D.J. - Yes, I am pressing on the SoundHound Icon.



Tonu: Is this related to SIRI?
D.J.: No, I do not own an iPhone, and this behavior is the same with or without my phone connected to the car. This is on FM radio.
(put on hold... ~4 minutes)
Tonu: I forwarded your pictures to the technical team.....
D.J.: Wasn't that already done several days/weeks ago? When the ticket was forwarded to the technical team the first time, did the pictures not go with it?
Tonu: I don't know about that...but I forwarded the images just now.

Roast them on twitter, fb, insta, etc. Maybe get a better response.

No soundhound account link required, just press the icon and the song, artist and album art pops up... I'll get some pics and upload them.

Basically you press the icon, it spins for a bit, and then it pops up on screen

I'd try to have them unlink, and re link your account... might "fix" it. My account got unlinked and a quick call to relink it and everything worked

How much does UVO cost?

Three tiers, and done monthly. I'm playing with the top on @ $30/month.... I am planning on dropping to the middle one and see what happens lol

Such amazing response time (173 days) - and they forgot about it till I ask for an update

And they finally fixed it...
Now I have a functioning feature, I will likely never use, as I don't listen to FM radio.
