Gday gang.
I need to put some slicks or very good semi slicks for the drags.
My original thoughts were to buy 2 stinger rims, wrap them in sticky slicks so I can quickly swap as needed but I can’t find any for the 19s. What are people’s thpughts? Would smaller rims 17s, with full slicks be better then semi slicks on the 19s?
Thanks, D

Lighter weight wheels will help. 18s will fit, 17s might. Make sure whatever you run that you are able to clear the brakes!

All other things being equal, slicks should give better traction than semi-slicks, yes.

have you looked into smaller diameter wheels for the rear. Im also interested if 17's would fit around the rear brakes.

if you can swap the wheels at the track or trailer the car to the track, slicks are the way to go. The only time you would want drag radials is if the car has to drive on the street. DRs give less traction and are more likely to damage your car than slicks.

Here's a couple of close ups on my 18" TSW nurburgring wheels. There's about 3/4" clearance between the caliper and the hoop, so I think a 17" wheel would work. Might have to break the vibration tabs off the brake pads. The wheel would definitely need to be a traditional lip.

I have tried on some 18s as well. They looked to have plenty of room but I want see see if any one is actually running a 17.20190504_143330.webp 20190504_143425.webp 20190504_143354.webp
