so I'm noticing my two rear tires are in hydroplane mode right now.

I'm wondering if its ok to just replace my two rears since my two front tires seem to have hella thread left still.

personally idk what's best or if any problems will come out from that.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say probably ok on a staggered set up. But if someone else gives reason not to then I’ll jump ship and go with a no don’t be crazy.

Replace the rears. I've done that twice already. And recently I replaced the fronts for the second time.

Will agree, go ahead and replace the rears. Typically, the "replace all of them" logic is with square setups that will wear relatively evenly. The Stinger has too much power to wear evenly, and you can't rotate the tires in any meaningful way. I went through rears at a 2:1 ratio to fronts on my first (RWD) Stinger. Lol.

That's close to what my AWD staggered replacement ratio is.

ah very nice!!!! i imagined it would be ok with a staggered set up. my back tires are starting to look a little scary... especially during wet conditions. i appreciate the answers!!

Replaced my rears only on my AWD GT last summer, fronts I'll likely do after one more summer. Nothing negative to report.

you MUST replace all 4 at the same time..... and then tell me where I can pickup your hella deep tread fronts from..... ah crap, your from out of country for me.... Just replace the worn out tires then.

Stingers don't have a center diff - we have an electronically controlled clutch pack to drive the front axle. It's OK for the overall diameters of the front vs the rear to be out a percent or 2. The clutch pack can handle "some" slip. (I am referring to the difference in diameter between new vs worn tires) It's not significant enough to matter

lmaooo!! all four it is :laugh::laugh:

ugh, I'm frustrated because my mechanic is telling me that my fronts are getting "chewed up" and will need replacing soon. And I am on the original set, with only 19k miles!

Just doesn't make sense to me that the fronts are in such bad shape with so little miles (I have a '19 GT RWD).

Anyone with an affordable tire that they like?

these Indy 500's were extremely cost effective for me.

Were only $169 CAD each for me in July 2021

My choices and prices from "my guy" were (225/40 r19)

General Gmax $214 each
Kumho Ecsta pa51 $200 each
BFG g force $236 each
Dunlop signature $196 each
Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 $169 each
Plus $4 each tire stewardship
Plus tax

Staggered fitments have nothing to do with it. If AWD then what matters is that all 4 corners have a very similar if not identical rolling diameter. You don't want axles spinning at different speeds. If your front tires have say 80% or more tread remaining, then it is safe to put new tires on the rear, but if they are more worn than that, you may run into drivetrain issues. If RWD, forget everything I just said and put whatever diameter you want whenever you want. (however, if you go too far away from said rolling diameter front to rear, the ABS and traction control systems may not like it, and think that your wheels are slipping)
