Which one is better/ more beneficial to run?

I am trying to think down the line and choose the intake system which would allow me to add more to increase the horsepower. As far as shortram air intake, i'd add the Kia Stinger Velossa Tech BIG MOUTH Ram Air to add more concentrated air directly to the intake and for the cold air intake i imagine i would eventually throw a Kia Stinger 3.3T - Ultimate Performance Front Mount Intercooler Kit or (another intercooler kit) on to cool things down.

If i threw on shortram intakes, could i still add an intercooler in addition to the big mouth ram air inlets or would i need a cold air intake?

or vice versa...

if i run the cold air intake could i throw on the Big Mouth Ram Air inlets in addition to the intercooler or would it be beneficial to have shortram air intakes? I would imagine i could as the goal is to cool down and provide as much concentrated air to the intakes but before i choose to take a certain path, i wanted to confirm. Will it be more beneficial in the future to run one over the other?

I havent had the pleasure of really building up a car over the course of a couple years so i want to make sure i start with a solid foundation that doesn't limit my abilities to add certain modifications or increase the performance later on down the road.

Any advice would be awesome!

get the snorkels, short ram intakes and an intercooler. Burger Tuning is a great place to start. or K8 Stinger store. Both have it all and both are reputable vendors.

Intakes don't really do anything for turbo engines, the air has to go through all the tiny holes of the intercooler and all the bends associated. It's more about pressurizing the air, and that comes from the turbo and the restriction (or lack of) downstream in the exhaust. Unless you get to the point where you are making 50% more HP due to a bigger turbo, bigger injectors and all supporting mods, the intakes really don't do anything. Money is better spent on plugs, injectors, turbo, intercooler, EXAUST.

I actually ended up going with the AEM cold air intakes. they seemed to line up directly with the stock inlets which i plan to replace with the big mouth inlets so i figured the both of them would do me some good.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Having just done intakes with ram function as my first mod, I'm one of the few that would have preferred it be quieter.

You do get some wide open throttle improvement you can feel but you also lose just a little of the tip in throttle responsiveness. Sport mode is less noticeable but for me it's clear in comfort mode.

If I was doing it over again I'd like to see how K&N drop in with VT snorkels sound and feel first.

Both are great options depending on your needs and mods.

If you are pushing the car hard often and doing quite a bit of track time you could benefit from both options.

I would be glad to help answer any questions you might have about these products or hook you up with a discount to our store.

Shoot me a message at any time,

Daniel @ the K8 Stinger Store

Technically, there is no cold air intake option for the Stinger. The best you'll get is modest shielding and better ducting to the filter on a warm air intake.

I was kind of thinking that as well but didn't want to say it if I was wrong. all the air filters reside under the hood in roughly the same spot. Get the snorkels for a little better airflow to the filters and you'll be good.

I eventually want to get the JB4 tuner but i know it requires race plugs. If i get the plugs now before getting the JB4 can i install them? Will just the plugs help at all by themselves or could it cause fouled plugs?

Getting 1 or 2 step colder plugs before a tune won't hurt. The minor improvements of dwell time and spark won't be felt until you get the tune, naturally.
