I am also in Canberra and considering whether going to my mechanic. (who has looked after my cars for many years) would be better than going to the local dealership. Apart from the roadside assistance and fixed price (price is likely to be comparable to elsewhere anyway), does anyone think that there is any real benefit in going to the dealership - or go to a more experienced mechanic?
