They took my money and pretty much said c’ya. Test drove a white GT at a different dealer and wife wanted the micro blue, so found one in the same (according to add on webpage) model in the micro blue. In the excitement of picking it up, I did not realize that it came with the 18’s until I brought it home. Called the dealership and explained that the add said it was the model with the 19’s. Salesmen said it was a typo and pretty much said it wasn’t their problem. They have not returned my calls or emails. My car has had a no start issue twice with only 667 miles on the clock. Once while in my driveway and second time on the way home from work on the highway during rush hour traffic. It went through the stop/start cycle but wouldn’t restart. I called the Serra and talked to the salesman, stated “What do you want us to do about it?” They pretty much took the money and closed the door behind me.

Call the Kia customer service line on the faults. What does your contract say about the car and its features?

They never gave us the window sticker, they emailed it to my wife after I realized it had 18’s and we requested it. It’s the standard GT with remote start.

I did call them and they said there wasn’t anything they could do, other then hiring a lawyer.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
AWD 18" A/S is the "standard" in the northern States. 19s are available but they are not the "standard".

Either pursue this to an exchange for what you wanted in the first place (if you have any legal foot to stand on); or eat it (if you don't have a legal foot to stand on). But for sure, get away from that dealership and spread the word on the Net about them. Let them know. In this day of Net reviews, bad ones will pile on and bury a crap business. They have to know this sooner rather than later.

When I talked to Kia support, they told me that the 19’s were standard and you can choose the 18’s as an option. The first one I test drove was with the 19’s but was white. I’m sure I’ll have to bite it, just sucks all the way around. If they can’t find out what’s wrong with the no start issue, I hope then they can do something for me.

That's true of the Stinger as designed. But the dealerships in the northern States seemed to have only 18s on their lots (this was noted last year); you had to have a 19" shipped in. Then the unpleasant fact of max speed limited to 130 MPH on the 18s became common knowledge and the 19s were desired by most. I'm guessing you received an 18 which hasn't moved and they were sly about it. Bastards.

They'll fix your car I have no doubt. Having limited top end can be addressed by you, if it ends up being too big an annoyance to ignore. Find a tune shop that will raise the speed limiter. If I had bought an 18, I know that by now I'd have done that, but only raised it to 167 MPH so that I wouldn't be risking warranty. Also, I'd have ditched the A/S tires for summers on the bigger rims, like the TSW I've got; and keep the 18s for winter. None of this seems like deal breaker stuff.

Pretty much accepted the fact that I’m stuck with what I have, I just have to work around it. I hate the fact that it’s just another stealership that makes the automaker look bad by giving people a bad taste in the mouths.

Weird, we have two "Serra Kia's" here in Alabama. The starting issue sounds like a battery problem, if it's a 2018 that car has been sitting a long time. They should take care of that issue for you. As for the wheels, while it sucks their ad was wrong, you weren't signing the ad when you bought it. If your paperwork has the correct wheel size on it (18) you're screwed in that respect. Ads are full of typos, there's A LOT of copy and paste, gotta check that paperwork and the car itself with a fine toothed comb.

Look at it this way, you're in Michigan so you're going to need two sets of wheels anyway right? Well you already have the cold weather set, now you have a good excuse to buy a nice, light weight set of summer wheels. Lighter wheels gives a good bit more performance.
