Road/tire noise.

Attaching more videos of the strange noise coming from the front/front-right side of the car. This is really starting to get on my nerves since it now happens on basically every drive. Can anyone else hear a hollow hum while I am driving and going over bumps?

(notice the hollow bump sound at the end of the video)

My dealership service dept. said that it was normal and the nature of the tires but from feedback on here and other Stinger groups this is not the case. I have attempted to contact the head shop technician to express my concerns and was twice told he would call me back but it has been 2 days now and nothing. Great way to treat your own customer right? I hit up my local trusted mechanic but he candidly told me that their shop does not have experience servicing the stinger and did not want to give me the wrong diagnostic. I don't really trust the only other KIA dealership in town so I'm stuck. The search continues... :(

I loved this car when I first bought it but this noise issue along with my dealer experience is a huge buzzkill. However, I am immensely grateful for the help and feedback on this forum. Y'all are 10x more helpful than my dealer.

With that being said, how are those Nitto Motivo UHPs? :D
Quiet. I first noticed that they were quieter than the PS4 when I changed to the Motivo; and smoother riding too. So, after a long "summer" of back to riding on Michelins, I fully expected to notice this subdued noise and softer ride again last fall. Oddly, any change was probably subjective only. I'll be switching back to the Michelins again in a couple of weeks, and I'm definitely primed to notice any ride and noise difference at all after four months on the Motivos.
Nice, please report back! Especially if you hear a "hollow blowing over glass bottle" noise ;)
I'm happy to report that to me the ride on Michelin summer tires feels comparable to the Nitto Motivo A/S UHP tires I've been on all winter. I had the Michelins put on today and other than some imperfections in the road feeling more firm than on the Motivos I cannot tell an real difference, either in ride quality or road noise. The Michelins are still quite fresh (only put them on last August and September; the rears have c. 4K miles more than the fronts).

Road noise 1 seems to only thump on parking terrace joints?
Road noise 2 at c. 0:07 is where I think I'm hearing your "blowing over a glass bottle" noise. It's probably freaking loud in real life? My car does not make any moaning or wind noises at all. So, not normal, imho.
Road noise 3 seems to be thumpy with the road; and the "blowing over the glass bottle" noise is either faintly continuous as part of the background, or is not there in any discernable way to my hearing.

Yea the hum noise is definitely continuous on all my videos. So now I have several people online telling me this is not normal, so going to talk to my dealership and see what they say but in all honesty I don't trust them anymore.

It might be worth getting the professional opinion of a garage unaffiliated with Kia. For the issue I had with my '18 Premium, 3 dealerships were never able to identify the root cause of the issue whereas a 30 second visual inspection by a local Firestone mechanic nailed it. Tires were feathering causing the noise, caused by driving with SLIGHT misalignment over time. Not saying that is your issue, but simply getting an unbiased opinion might be worth your time.

I agree, but the only local mechanic I trust told me that they weren't familiar with the Stinger and did not want to give me the wrong diagnostic. Don't think the noise is from the tire because I had the front tires swapped and the noise is still coming from the same areas (focused on front-right side). Might go out of town to a seemingly more reputable KIA dealer who is Stinger friendly to see what they say.

It’s not like the stinger is a spaceship...seems like a bs excuse to me. A visual inspection by someone knowledgeable can probably diagnose this

I can understand them not wanting to charge me for a thorough inspection and then not finding the issue, but yea its frustrating. My main issue is finding someone that is knowledgeable because it seems like the dealerships around here are sure as hell not.

Google reviews/yelp should get you started, there’s got to be another option around that will take a look for free or a very small fee

There is a family-owned Kia dealership about a 2 and a half hour drive from where I live. They have pretty good reviews on google/yelp and even held a Stinger meet-up. I've heard good things about them from the Stinger facebook group so I will give them a shot (they are also mod friendly).
