Road/tire noise.

I test drove a 2019 GT AWD and experienced the same noise and vibrations that some of you guys have described, at low and high speeds, and even smooth road surfaces. On smooth and freshly paved roads the road noise diminished somewhat, but the vibration in the steering wheel and my seat was still very noticeable and annoying. So I guess some of the 2019's suffer from the same issue.

Have any of you experiencing the vibrations and noise installed 19" wheels to see if the problem goes away? Have any of you resolved the problem?

My Oct 17 is as smooth as silk, apart from A/M exhaust.

Is yours a 2019 and does it have the 18" with the Potenza tires? I think everyone here that complained about vibrations has the 18" with the A/S tires. What is "A/M"? You mean the "enhanced" exhaust sound?

Anyway, I haven't seen any posts/impressions from 2019 GT owners.

I think that A/M is for “after market”. I have 19’ staggered and my vibrations were from the rotors, I knew that based on it happening when I braked, turning the rotors mostly solved it. Hard emergency stop brought back a slight vibration on braking but not enough to be annoying. I plan on replacing the rotors and pads in the future. Since it’s minor and the car is havin no issues, i’ll wait to do it.

Its a 10/2017 build, it has 19" continental tyres and I ment "After market exhaust" . No complaints about the tyres they drive quietly I find. I've heard others say they wear rapidly ?

I was just about to post something similar. I was showing off the car to the wife last night and took a hard left hand turn onto a side street and heard/felt a really loud sound/vibration from the right front side of the car. I have 900 miles on my Stinger GT and recently put on new 18 inch winter wheels with 18 inch Michelin X Ice winter tires. I'll need to give it another test run soon. I'm hoping it's just the tires. It was loud and lots of vibration!! I didn't hear it anymore after the turn. The summer wheels are the 19 inch standard wheels with standard Michelin Pilot summer tires. I've been babying the car so never tested it on the summer tires. But, they are very smooth otherwise.

A/M wheels are not to the same weight and specs as OE wheels. The variety is enormous. So my first theory would be the rims. Any hard cornering is going to produce additional vibration and noise. Yesterday I took a cloverleaf at .8 G and the Nitto Motivos made a lot of "roaring" noise, but still felt planted. I'm still on the OE GT 19" rims.

Anyway, this is not at all what @only1harry is on about with "vibration". The car he test drove, twice, was a vibration mess (to a discerning driver) just going straight ahead at varying speeds.

Maybe those tires have a bad case of flat spotting. I get some of that when the temps get cold with the Nittos but it goes away after a while.

Yes, I was just commenting on the constant steering wheel vibrations (also felt through the seat/chassis) with a 2019 GT AWD I test drove, because it's the same thing the OP and several others here were complaining about with their 2018 Stingers, if anyone wants to read the last 9 pages.

Funny thing is the dealership's General Manager has called me a couple of times trying to convince me to buy this car implying the vibrations were all in my head
But that doesn't surprise me. Their showroom was completely dead both times I visited. No customers at all, except for 1 lady who looked around and left the 2nd night, and I was there between 5 and 6:30. They close at 8.
Dropped off my wife's Accord at the Honda dealer a couple of hours ago for an oil change and inspection, and while my wife was waiting on line for a service advisor, I decided to go in to see if they will take MSRP for the Type-R :) (it's my 5th attempt but they wants thousands $ over sticker which I won't do, but hoping they might get tired of me and sell it for MSRP, hehe). The showroom had 20-25 customers and every single salesman was sitting down with a customer doing paperwork. What a difference between the 2 dealerships, and you can walk from one to the other - 1/2 mile distance on the same road. I think part of it is the people that work there. I got a different vibe from Kia, like they are colder, you don't feel too welcomed, they are not knowledgeable enough about the cars they are selling, they had long faces like they didn't want to be there, don't think anyone ever smiled, etc. Different atmosphere.

Based on how their sales manager behaves, I'm sure the sales staff operates the same. There are some dealerships across all brands that just needs to be revamped or closed if they can't figure out how to cater to customers.

Absolutely agree. Poor sales/revenue performance of some dealerships can be attributed to their management and the staff they employ, not the demographics or the cars themselves. A company's success relies almost entirely on the people they hire/that work there, other than having a good product or services they offer. The same goes for car dealerships (and also their Service Dept). This particular Kia dealer is the only one in my County (of almost 1/2 million people), but has an empty showroom. In contrast there are 2 Honda dealers and both are pretty busy.

Yep! When I traded my BMW for a KIA and went back to get some stuff from the car, the service woman was shocked that I traded a BMW for a KIA. I was surprised she even vocalized that. I never went there for servicing.

Got my tires balanced for a 3rd time today, this time from a shop other than Kia. They found that both my fronts were out of wack and corrected them. It did drastically improve my ride, however, this still did not 100% make the vibration go away. I took my invoice to Kia and talked to the service manager. In 2 weeks when I'm in for service we are going to swap out wheels and tires with another Stinger on the lot to see if the issue still remains. If the problem is gone with OEM tires, I may be dealing with bad or out of round tires at which point I should be getting replacement rubber under warranty. If the vibration is still there, I have another issue on my hands. I feel it from 45-55mph then it goes away until I hit about 72. It's such a high frequency vibration that I bet most people won't notice it. Just like my crappy cruise control surge that nobody feels except me.
I thought I was the only one with the problem. I put it in cruise control and you can feel it pulsing. It is not steady. Constant forward motion then back as if you were giving it gas and letting off every second. Is there any other people that have this.

Ditto. There's another lengthy thread covering the jerky cruise control. Jerky Cruise Control?

My GT did and it was noticable, this GT2 did it for a little while but seems to have smoothed out because I don't feel it anymore even when trying to. Seems to be varying degrees depending on the car.

I use Cruise a lot and it’s been smooth for me.

Smooth here, one of the best CC "feel" I've had on all of my vehicles.

Ucinn, can you comment on the difference in engine/road/tire sound, noise, overall insulation differences between the base GT you had, vs the GT2 (if any). I thought I've read some where that the overall loudness of the car is different on the different trims, due to different amount/type of insulating material? Is your GT2 quieter and smoother than the base GT?
