3.3TT Review of Jonny Tig and their Intercooler

For the US based customers:

I had 0 communication problems with Jon through FB messenger, you have to realize the time zone difference, and the fact he is one of AUS most reputable welders. I had 0 problem waiting for my intake setup, and plan on the exhaust this summer. You pay for craftsmanship, nothing in the market comes close to the level that he produces, hence the wait.

If you want something that everyone has, buy what everyone else has. He's taken the time to do completely out of the box setups for our cars, rather than go the same route that other companies have when mass producing their performance parts.

I don’t think the time zone difference is 3-4 days.

I still don’t get this “his parts are great quality and are worth the wait” argument. That can be his sales pitch if he tells me it’s going to take 11 weeks to get. But instead he told me it was going to be 3 and then possibly lied multiple times to keep me from cancelling my order.

Anyone who's ever dealt with customer service competently knows that expectations are key. Set the customer's expectations before the sale. If they may change, warn the customer ahead of time. If they continue to be delayed, CONTACT THE CUSTOMER AND CONTINUE TO RESET THEIR EXPECTATIONS.

It's simple customer service that keeps customers aware and therefore, happier. Just do it. Or you get threads like this posted about you and have customers driven away. Period.

Agree with you on the lead time to get the parts shipped (mine took roughly the same time), and it is one of the down sides of a small shop operation like @Jonnytig. However once it gets shipped it takes only a few days to get to your door.

As far as the quality of the kit it self and fitment, no doubt it is great, could the IC kit come with instructions, yes absolutely, it could've helped make things easier on the installation, it did not take me long to figure out what goes where. The intake kit however does come with detailed instructions that includes photos.

@DaJackson if you have additional photos of the install send them over PM to compare them with mine and make sure it was installed properly.
I would like to see install information as well on the Intercooler kit. I've ordered the 512 hp kit from Jonny Tig and am not in any rush. When it comes it comes. He's got to build it first right?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
On the bright side, once JT ships the item it gets here fast. :)

Don't worry, you will be waiting quite a while until you finally it receive based upon historical performance.
Good news is that the kit (intake & IC) is quite good.
personally, i would pass on the chip, exhaust, plugs and decals.
I have the Pressertech tune with the JT intake and IC and my car screams.
stock plugs, no re-gap necessary.

My kit has been ordered without the Uncle chip.

I want the ProTuner to delete the limiter on my GTS. And I like it's versatility. If I ever am able to get the turbo upgrade then I'll get a ecu remap.

I'm not familiar with Pro Tuner.
Good luck with you mods.

Hello,

I wanted to ask to the other people on here who have the jonny tig intercooler on their stinger what kind of clamps did they use? I have had some issues with the hoses popping off.

i used the stock clamps or clamps in the kit, can't remember.
I did not buy any clamps.
I have had no leaks or problems with things popping off.

Do a search under Johnny Tig in the search area, I did read many people bought different clamps to make it fit.

My Johnny Tig 512 hp kit comes in about 10 days. I'll post more about it then with pictures.
