OMG that would have taken a lot of force to break that. How did it get broken?
Very clever!View attachment 6983
Ended up 3D printing a replacement part. The original part is secured from the rear side with a self-tapping screw.
Boy that’s 21st century thinking, very inventive & well done. Will it last & what is the quality of the medium you used?View attachment 6983

I used ABS so probably the same material as the oem part. It'll be a little weaker, but it only gets loaded when the trunk is open so it should last
If it’s really new try the dealer. Failing that order a new while your there then glue the old one until the new one comes in. Or while you are at the dealer talk them into one off a new one on the lot and they can wait for the replacement.Ugh, same happened to me, and now their is a piece rattling around in the hatch.
Fwiw, mine snapped off because a heavy microwave shifted and pinned the bottom dangly part, so when lifting the hatch, it held it *down* and top part ripped off.
Thanks, i've got one on order, now we'll see how tricky removing the trip isForgot to provide an update on this! I was able to identify and order a replacement from kiapartsnow.com. The part number is 817321K000.
Hi there, could you please send me a link to where you took the model for print?View attachment 6983

You start with the forward, highest panel. Peel it off with your fingers or a plastic pry tool. Unscrew the side panel that has the hanger hook, then it comes off easily.Does anyone know how to remove the trim piece in order to replace this hook? I just ordered mine as well. Somehow mine snapped off & I was lifting the trunk
