I am in Canada and I can remote start with UVO without adding any remote start kit.

I think I read that is part of UVO “LUX” that the K900 has in the US but the Stnger doesn’t get. I think they should make this standard on the Cadenza and up. Love that feature in our Volvo.
If I read the 2019 Optima changes correctly they are adding it on some Optima trims (maybe it wasn’t US, though). I’m hoping there are aftermarket options soon for the Stinger because it’s the one thing I miss from my Nissan. Although I don’t miss paying $25 per month on the Nissan.
Sweet! Let’s hope the Stinger gets it as well for 2019 in the US. Another step in adding options typically available on luxury vehicles. Hyundai has had that on some of their vehicles, about time KIA added that for us.
