Bought my Stinger last week only to find Canadians are getting rear heated seats, three view camera, cover for cup holders and wireliss phone charger for the latest iPhone plus no storage space for same and NO remote start features in UVO app. I’ve been asked four times already by strangers about my Stinger and my response is I love it but I wish I had waited until next year when we get the Canadian package. Shame on you Kia, I won’t be your champion in 2018.

I don’t think we have a cup holder cover.

So you brought a car you didn't research and now mad at Kia?

I personally am totally fine without any of that stuff, just my opinion. However I have been living with remote start from my phone on my Genesis, and I will say that is a feature that is amazing and once you have it, it would be hard to live without :(

The lack of UVO app support like remote start and door locking is mind boggling when Canada has it. It's not like it's a totally different car, with a completely different infotainment system to support it. Even the US K900, which only sold 22 cars last month, has remote start through UVO, so it's possible to have it on the Stingers.

It's as if Kia/Hyundai want to make the Stinger lesser compared to the G70, so the G70 looks more like a luxury car. I bet the US G70 will have the features the Canadian Stinger has like 360 Camera, wireless charging, heated rear seats, and Hyundai Blue Link (More than likely the same system as the Canadian UVO but with different interface.) app support.

We'll see

Here's to hoping that the 360 Cam is already wired and can be easily retrofit (cameras and button on center console) along with an UVO update. Also, UVO update should be able to add remote start, etc...unless there are other hardware components to this but i would not think so. I can do with out the heated rear seats in AZ and the wireless charge i am in different too.

My BMW came "pre-wired" with all kinds of goodies that i happily installed aftermarket on my own. The issue i see with Kia is the software update to make it work.

Only option i see as difficult to retro would be the alcantara headliner, which, IMO, pushes any car to the next level. It can be done, bit not simple nor cheap in any event.

I may have first swing at a Sunset Yellow GT2 RWD in the next week so the choice will be, get it now, or wait and hope on MY2019...

From what I understand the US Stinger UVO is missing a SIM and/or the cellular hardware for it to communicate. That's why you have to have your phone connected to get the vehicle health reports. It's possible the MY2019 will have this capability to stay competitive in the market as more and more car companies add apps and remote features to those apps.

If I was you and could wait for the MY2019, especially if its released in 4 - 6 months as rumored, I would wait for it. It will more than likely have the 360 Cam and less of a hassle (drilling holes and installing) and additional expense (more than likely way overpriced from KIA if bought on its own) if that is a feature you are looking for.....

I had not even considered the SIM card side of it. Makes sense since our Sorento needs to be plugged into the phone to get the reports. That being the case, I'd agree that a software update would be much more unlikely to solve the retro.

I may have to wait and see as you suggest...all depends on what I can get this yellow one for. I suppose, worse case, not many folks in my area looking for a yellow $50k car and they don't update MY19 as discussed with options or colors and then I'll go for the MY18 one! Maybe even at more of discount due to supply. I'd really like that alcantara headliner. My current M3 has that as interior and it's amazing.

Thanks for the insight.
