Rear fog lights?!

I've never had an issue seeing a car ahead if they had their lights on, and personally I wish the tails came on with the DRLs especially for those idiots out there that forget to turn on their lights in inclimate weather or night time.
The rear fog lights are SUPER bright. Even on 30 year old cars. Under normal conditions they blind you if you drive behind some idiot that forgets to turn them off.
You're only supposed to turn them on when you can't see the taillights of the car in front of you. And usually that never happens in a city. I'd say they are useful about 2-3 days a year.
Most cars also used to have optional front fog lights (projectors) but these were slowly phased out once xenon and then led lights came. These were never mandatory.

Be glad you haven't been in those driving conditions, then. That you have never experienced those conditions doesn't make rear fogs useless or pointless.
I've driven in just about all possible conditions save for maybe a volcano eruption. Tell me how a rear fog is any different than just having the tailights on/

OK that makes more sense then. Them being brighter would actually make a difference in thick fog.

Don't share connectors and the euro had an extra plug but totally doable

Could someone with post-refresh rear fogs post a photo? Can any European dealers on here make kit available for us Americans to order? I would order the rear fogs asap if it were available. :)

Thank you, Jasem.

Could any dealers in the EU or SG make a kit bundle available for purchase?

A bit off topic... My Saab 9-3 had the rear fog light. Yup, just one. Can't remember what side it was on. Well, it worked great as a pseudo brake light when someone was a bit too close for comfort. I would turn it on and watch the headlights behind do the really fast dip to the ground. Tailgating over. Now that I think about it, that was a long time and 10 cars ago.

Other than the OEM switch has anyone checked to see if there is a cutout on the US version center light?

A huge chunk of the EU disagree and require them like law, just like our idiotic third brake light requirement since pre-1986 vehicles had perfectly functional brake lights, and those stupid airbags are useless since all cars come with perfectly functional seat belts, since seat belts already were massively effective in saving lives. Oh and ABS? Pre-ABS, people were perfectly capable of pumping the brakes to maintain control of the vehicle, and don't get me started with things like RADAR-based collision avoidance, lane keep assist, and rear view camera nonsense. All those features are totally pointless. In fact, I think you should ditch the Stinger and buy a 1984 Yugo GV instead. /s
I actually think the third brake light is fine. I see so many junk cars on the road where the third light is the ONLY one functioning. If that third light wasn't there, they would have no brake lights at all.
One of my pet peeves are those idiots on the road that never do any checks of their vehicles for burned out lights or anything else.
California has bi-annual smog checks, but no safety inspections like some other states do.

I see plenty of EU spec cars (apparently) in the US that have the rear fog light, and the morons who typically drive them have no clue when/how to use them (or the front fog lights as well).
Perfectly clear weather and they have all these excess lights on, we call them fag lights.

replying back to my own comment.

I took out the center light bar. there are no pre-drilled holes, so if you want the reverse fog light my guess is you will need to buy the EU or KDM version of the light.
