Rear floor Wet behind driver's seat

The OEM grommet just pushes back into the firewall and seals itself using friction and the elasticity of the rubber. That is how all grommets work for sheet metal. The critical part is making sure it's installed correctly. It has to "snap" into place. It was not a trivial task to seat it properly. It took some serious force and technique to get it back in correctly. I am not worried about it leaking any more.

Buying a used car is a real pain. My previous car was a 2000 Mustang GT that I bought new. Owned it for 25 years and though it had its up and downs, at least any issues were my fault. Buying a used car is a gamble. I have only bought one other used car (besides the Stinger) for my teenage son, and that was a 2019 Certified Hyundai Veloster 2.0. There I was at least lucky enough to get a great deal on a CPO, so it gets the full 10yr, 100k mile drivetrain warrantee. The Stinger was a really great deal from a very reputable used car dealership, but not CPO. The car looks great inside and out. The previous owners (yes 3, maybe that should have been a clear warning) really took good care of it. It is frustrating to have this undetected issue from the dealer. On the positive side, they came to my house this week to pick up the car and take it back to investigate the issue and help remedy the situation. I had the car less than a month. I was lucky to find the issue now and not 6 or 12 months down the road. The dealership seems like they are going to do their best to resolve it. I sure hope it all works out.
