If anyone has been struggling with high intake air temperatures I have designed a harness to relocate where the Tmap sensor reads intake air temperatures. The ECU now reads temperatures at the cold side intercooler pipe.

The primary benefit of relocating the TMAP sensor is **consistency** rather than outright power gains. You’ll notice fewer power drops due to heat soak, better throttle response, more stable performance and increased average MPG.

This sensor relocation kit works with any all factory and aftermarket parts and tunes. JB4 and ECU tunes included.

Expected Gains v6 3.3T
1. Improved Accuracy of Sensor Readings

- readings from the cold-side intercooler pipe provides cooler, more stable intake air temperatures, allowing the TMAP sensor to send more accurate data to the ECU.
- This can lead to better ECU decision-making for air/fuel ratios, ignition timing, and boost control, especially during sustained performance driving or in hot weather.

2. Reduced Heat-Soak Power Loss
- Heat soak in the intake manifold can cause the TMAP sensor to read artificially high intake air temperatures (IATs). This often triggers the ECU to pull timing or reduce boost to protect the engine, resulting in power loss.
- Relocating the sensor will mitigate this issue, allowing the engine to maintain more consistent power output, especially in repeated pulls or track conditions.

3. Potential for Slight Power Gains
- While the relocation itself doesn’t directly increase power, it can help the ECU optimize performance by avoiding conservative tuning strategies caused by heat-soaked sensor readings.
- In real-world driving, this translates to **5-15 HP** and **15-30 lb-ft of torque** in scenarios where heat soak would otherwise cause power loss. These gains are more noticeable in hot climates or during extended performance driving.

4. Improved Throttle Response
- With more accurate TMAP readings, the ECU can better manage boost and fueling, leading to sharper throttle response and smoother power delivery.

5. Supporting Modifications
- If you have other mods (e.g., upgraded intercooler, intake, JB4 or ECU tune), the benefits of relocating the TMAP sensor will be amplified.

6. Pricing
100$ shipped continental USA
120$ shipped worldwide

Where to order?

Is it necessary to change the sensor? Couldn't it be done only with changing connectors?

Dm me to order.

Check the part number on both sensors if they are the same then there’s no need to swap sensors.

On my car mine were the same. To be safe I put swapping sensors locations in the manual just in case someone’s sensors are different.

The harness relocates only the temperature sensing portion of the sensor not the air pressure sensing portion. This is why this kit works on any car tune or no tune boltons or no boltons

Interested myself. Makes sense, but odd that the engineers didn't do this to begin with...

Highly recommend... and you can't even see it 😉

What is the install like? I’m new to tuning aka not very good at the install stuff yet.

You disconnect two sensors, plug those leads into the new cable, and then the plus from the new cable into the sensors. 5 minute job.

Anyone with updates on how this has been working for them? Any changes in engine behavior?

I managed to get my hands on the Kia stinger manual and I was just having a look at sensor locations. what I discovered was IAT is also your MAP sensor, so this harness will then basically swap your boost pressure to now be picked up from the manifold and your IAT/MAP to be picked up from charge pipe, correct? Surely we want our MAP sensor reading from in our manifold closest to the cylinders? Just curious if it could potentially cause issues of some sort?

Or does the harness just make it read iat in conjunction with boost pressure from the charge pipe now? Instead of with the map?

Sorry if I’m confusing anyone haha 😂

Yeh I downloaded a manual on line to check a few things out for myself...

No need to stress I found the relocation worked well... especially with just factory tune.

I had a suss of his previous posts and he did mention it only relocated the IAT portion 😂

Should have probably had a read before posting 🤓

what kind of quality was the repair manual for $30?

And what was the website if it was a good manual? :-)

I know we have the Kstinger website, but if there are any more in-depth guides I'd be willing to pay for them.

Input appreciated.

If you search through the stinger forum someone has a link to a downloadable one and it’s legit, I downloaded it on to my work tablet just in case it was malware 😂 all seems to be okay 👌🏽

I downloaded this one because I was specifically chasing the vacuum line diagram that runs in and out and thru our intake manifold... less is more with me and this engine bay will hopefully look a lot different and uncluttered in a few weeks.

I have already bypassed and blocked off various lines to see how performance is affected and what error codes are thrown if any.
For now I have returned it all back to standard but,
Watch this space.

It's in the pic I posted... dardoor.com and it was $54 Australian

It allows screenshots but unfortunately I can't download and share the pdf's
