I agree with all of this. Of course the issue with the loaner cars is definitely one of the known things in the con column when going in to purchase the car. I specifically asked if they keep a loaner stinger for customers having their car serviced. They said no and I bought the car anyways.

My point with the Mercedes is I think Kia is being held to higher expectation here than other cars are being held too, even those with brand prestige. These anecdotal claims that the other economy cars are completely devoid of creaks and rattles is just about impossible. It's just that those issues are more easily ignored because of lower expectations. My previous Audi A6 had plenty of little creaks and rattles from time to time. Nothing constant or completely out of line, just normal for a mid level luxury wagon sounds. I am not expecting to ride in S class silence without paying S class money.

I also agree with this sentiment, however in my particular case, my Canadian 2018 GT Limited is making more noise than rental cars not even in the same class. How can an Enterprise rental Chevy Malibu with over 20 KMs have less rattling and creaking than the same company that creates genesis products. That absurd and unacceptable in my opinion. Either way I am going to see what can be done here.

I bought a slightly used, low mileage, certified 2018 GT Limited in August 2019 at a substantial rebate from a Kia dealer. So far I love my Stinger. But I've had creaking noises from the doors when going over speed bumps and rough road surfaces since day one. After reading about similar problems on different car forums, I bought a bottle of Gummi Pfledge Stift and applied it to the rubber door seals. Creaking gone. That was in early October. So far the permanent creaking hasn't come back, except a few times briefly on cold days (-10 C) but were gone as soon as the interior of the car warmed up. I might have to apply it a second time later on ? I don't know. Other than that I'm perhaps lucky because so far I don't have any other interior noises (yet ?).

I'm currently dealing with Kia corp in Aus over sunroof rattles that persist after after 4-5 attempts to fix and over 5 weeks spent out of action. Similar to @Amir Golbazi, we have a 2015 Subaru Forester with an even bigger sunroof and that vehicle makes absolutely no noises.
I’ve got a creaking/rattle as a result in the roof too.
January 2019 build.
It appears to go away as soon as the roof is tilted up.

Kia service want it for at least 3 days
they say but are not sure if they have a 100% fix for this issue.
The disturbing part for me is that they will have to drop the entire interior roof lining to get to the frame.
Am I confident on everything going back unbroken and as it came from the production line? No in a nutshell so I guess it’s a “put up with it” situation as I don’t want a can of worms being opened up.

Yeah unless it irritated you so much that you go down the rabbit hole and hopefully come out with a replacement or compensation. Generally each time you go in for these you come out with some new scratches and id have zero faith in them fixing it.

When you bring the Stinger in for de-rattling you get to sit there for 3 hours catching bronchitis from sick old ladies or take an Uber to work and get a call saying A) We couldn't replicate the issue or B) We don't know how to fix it so we're going to rip your car apart and experiment with it.

Don't forget option C) The other car(s) on the lot have the same issue, so it's "normal."

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Those comments are exactly as I experienced with Kia service.....don’t know how to fix it, we have to pull it apart (oh no) and even then don’t know if the measures we put in place (like 4 washers from Repco) will make any difference.

Service Manager: “Well, Bert - I tell you what, I can’t fix that noise for you BUT I can break something else trying to fix it and you’ll forget all about the noise!”

Me: “Nah”

I don't know how many people remember the movie "Major Payne," but this reminds me of the scene in the beginning where the guy is complaining about the pain from a gunshot wound, so to take his mind off it, Major Payne breaks they guy's finger lmao

Any car with a stiff suspension will eventually rattle; these squeaks and rattles can be eliminated with patience and effort. My C4-era ZR1 Corvette (not a cheap car at the time) was full of rattles and squeaks after 90K hard miles. If I tightened a screw (you cannot over-tighten them without risk of cracking panels) it would quickly loosen up again. I first tried replacing some panels. I tried making silicone rubber gaskets, but the rubber eventually squeaked. I came up with a fix by taking the interior panels out, lining all mating surfaces and screw points with felt tape, and reassembling. It restored the luxury/GT quality of the ride, eliminating all the annoying squeaks and rattles, and it didn't negatively affect fit of the panels at all.

IMHO all cars should feature felt gaskets on interior component mating surfaces from the factory, because the felt will never squeak.

Idk about y’all but I’m gonna be that guy that avoids the AIDS quality dealer service departments. I’ve seen what even Toyota dealerships can do to f*ck up a bulletproof Tacoma. No thank you. I had the trunk rattle so I did 3/16” washers and duct tape strips on the trunk latch d-shaped post. No more issues with that. The car is 3 weeks old not counting time sitting on the lot but it only had 12 miles on the odo and came with the STINGER across the trunk so it’s one of the newer 2019 VINs.

At least now I have a really good audio recording of it now to show it to service department that proves I’m not dreaming.

These rattles were not in the car when I bought it new but developed later on.
Just turned over 6,000 kms /3,500 miles all driven on perfectly smooth roads too.

Hmmm, so far 62% of respondents are having issues. I guess that shows the quality of KIA.

Hmm, a whole 68 responses to the poll out of thousands of forum Stinger owners. In well over a month. I guess that shows how bothered by noises Stingers are.

To be fair, not all forum users will care to take the poll. That or the poll doesn't apply to them (like me, who has no Stinger yet  )

I know. The number of members who are not owners yet has increased steadily in proportion to owners. But it is still way less than fifty percent; so "thousands" of Stinger owners are on here. 68 participants in well over a month is almost statistically nonexistent. Yes, many won't want to participate: only a few out of "religious" aversion. :D Most out of disinterest or not noticing the subject at all. This means their cars are not bothering them.

Don’t base your purchase off of the few that don’t like the noises. It’s a super easy fix.

Oh you need not worry. Just waiting for the right time to get one...

I fixed the noises with ease. A few metal washers and some subtle duct tape around the trunk latch area.

Interested to know where you’re at with this? I’m in the same situation. 6 repair attempts including a brand new sunroof assembly and still rattling and creaking about. 2.5 months without my car and no Fair Trading resolution yet.
