Have these vendors released ECU tunes in the past for the stinger? Tork and Pressertech already have at least a year of R&D on it. I don't want to be the guinea pig. Hopefully they have been testing on their own cars for a good amount of miles. I am also hoping the price is a lot more reasonable than 1250.
Blood Type Racing (BTR), you should definitely look into them. BTR and Lap 3 most likely have a year or more of RD but no one really knows about what they have going on because there very under the radar. They do specialize on Korean cars. You should see the Sema car's that BTR has built.
Tork you can read review on them, I will keep my opinion to myself.
Pressertech has a very reputable shop and their customer service is amazing. They also do work on high end cars. Everyone that I know that has got the Pressertech tune loves it.
As far as an ecu tune being more efficient/better than a piggyback. I cannot argue that, because I feel that a proper ecu tune will outperform a piggyback.
Now I own a JB4 and I personally never had any issues. I can even make the argument that I have outperformed or been right there on performance with all the ecu tunes out now with minimal
mods. The performance gain of the JB4 for the value is incredible. That is assuming that money is not a concern.
I personally will wait for BTR to release their ecu tune. Once they release it I will have them tune my car locally. At first I was going to sell my JB4, but I have had more appreciation/understanding for what the JB4 can do. I will keep the JB4 for data logging, some fine tuning and to run meth/E85 down the road. I don't know how aggressive the BTR tune will be so with the JB4 I can lower the boost so the car is not on kill mode all the time when daily driving/long trips.
I will run both the JB4 and the BTR tune.
I don't know were you are located but that could also determine which ecu tune you go with. If Pressertech was local to me I am sure I would of went their route. My plan's were to take a road trip to Atlanta this summer to get tuned by Pressertech. My plans changed since I found out about BTR being local to me.
It will all come down to your personal preference. If you want a mild/safer ecu tune I don't see how you can go wrong with Pressertech.
Hope this helps, if you wait I will tell you how the BTR tune is, and you will see my track times as well.
