• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

I have been speaking with a dealership in Quincy IL, Shottenkirk Kia. Very nice guys, I was unable to work a deal with them at the time however if anyone is interested they are selling a black GT1 for a good amount under MSRP, and 2 blue GT2's for 11k under MSRP, awd's 18in all season tires.

So just wanted to share (sorry if against rules) I felt bad for the sales rep I talked to he said there's no way they will be able to sell these in Quincy IL so they are being pretty aggressive with the pricing.

Ask to speak with Bryan Lewis

Did he say why the wouldn't be able to sell them? And I have to wonder why they even ordered them.

So he told me they sell alot of kias and are ranked pretty high in the nation? So kia literally just sent them a handful of Stingers, and they really don't have the customer base for them.

Maybe that salesman could get progressive with the times: jump on a forum like this, and advertise negotiable below-list pricing with travel stipend/airport pickup. There seems to be a significant market for selling cars that way.

Totally agree, I will talk to him. They do offer free hotel night stay for anyone traveling far to get a car.

I was seriously considering the SportWagen TDI a few years. There was a salesman in Philly who had become know on all of the VW & diesel forums for being the go-to guy because of honesty, product knowledge, and reasonable pricing. I know he offered airport pickups, and people used to post continuously about their satisfaction with the experience. He passed away unexpectedly, and Dieselgate subsequently hit, so I moved on...and Kia won my business.

Wow, r.i.p sad to see good guys go.

I can't say I'm a Kia fan yet I'm wanting to be, never owned one but I've owned two hyundais who have done me very well, but this stinger is to good of a machine to pass up, so I'm jumping on board

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that is just a bs advertised price that nobody will qualify for. It includes the lease cash, military rebate, "trade-in bonus cash" (don't even know what that is and I'm a dealer), and conquest cash. $11,754 off on a GT2 is way too high of a discount. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. I'd be flying over there to buy their inventory to sell at my own store at that price.

Fair enough, he worked me down to a good price on the gt1 but my trade in is negative equity and it puts me outside my monthly budget.

I'm in no position to speak about the gt2's though did not inquire about those, but noticed the prices on cars.com

I have no doubt they can work you a good deal - it looks like they weren't lying that they sell a lot of Kias since they have a sunset yellow one on their lot. It's just hard to see how good of a deal they offer on their website with all of the hidden discounts.

I think most of these "great deals" are using the lease-cash from Kia off of MSRP to create attractive monthly payments and advertising it on their web pages.

Oh yeah totally

Yeah, this is unfortunate. I find it annoying. Just show me the actual price. I can work out the rest on my own.

The lease-then-purchase strategy enables buyers to get Stingers at around a $3,000 discount from MSRP, plus an additional lease incentive of up to $6,800. That can easily produce a cost that's nearly $10k below MSRP. Downside is that it requires jumping through a couple of extra hoops than a straightforward purchase.

I have not heard about anyone actually getting $12,000 off MSRP. However, $10,000 off, or close to it, is achievable.

The lease-then-purchase approach is discussed in depth in a couple of other threads on the forum.

I understand that process. I still think you should advertise the actual price of the vehicle and not just what the price is after incentives. If I get one this MY it'll be a lease. I know what the incentives are. It makes it more difficult to compare prices at different dealerships if every one is picking and choosing how they want to list the price.

Agreed! Dealers should be much more transparent in their advertising and negotiations. As it is, the game too many dealers play is to sow confusion among buyers and then take advantage of the ones who aren't willing or able to sort fact from false promises and bogus excuses. KIA isn't helping things by offering really good incentives for leases but not for purchases.

Never forget that buying a car is a negotiation!

Come on, that's not what killed Saturn!

I don't know what killed Saturn. I never went to a dealership or looked at one. Not my kinda car. Poor selection, no money for innovation from GM which was going bankrupt at the time, decent fuel mileage but boring cars similar to other badges like Pontiac.

Yes, that's a lot closer to the truth!
