Possible transmission failure please help

alright, so today I drove to work just fine. When I left I drove approximately 80miles to pick up a buddy and take him to pick up his car, 60 miles appx and I dropped him off, i got gas at shell 2miles away then drove appx 5miles home, while making the left turn into my lot my car rolled until 2k rpm and slammed forward. I immediately called the dealership and they said to bring it in. I drove maybe 2min and up hill, at the stop light after I let off the gas i rollled backwards and didn't move up until 3k rpms and bounced off the rev limiter at 4k, the tubos kept spooling and releasing with each bounce. Lost all forward movement but stopped rolling down hill. Turned off car and pushed it into s lot, tried to turn on the car and nothing happened and it started smoking and had a check tpms code. Dealership said the smoke was the starter but have no idea about anythig else yet. I'm scared.
 
well what a first post. Never heard of this issue before, sounds like its a complicated failure. Get the dealer to pay to tow it. If it's under warranty that is. Got a code reader? Also would be a good idea to stick your phone under the car and take pics. and pics of the engine bay
 
How many miles on the car? AWD? No previous issues? Any other lights on the dash? I would be careful of the smoke, which could be an electrical issue. Don't want something catching on fire now, so I would unplug both terminals from the battery.

The dealer has the car. Smoke was the starter for sure, but they sent the codes out to kia to look at. Car oy has 8090 brand new car. Looked for oil or anything. There was no noise or anything to indicate anything wrong

8090, still has the stickers on the dash and carpet. No issues ever. Awd. Dealer confirmed some was the starter

Yea im mostly scared due to all the other issues that happened at the same time. Sounds like a wiring issues somewhere aswell.
Looks like I guessed correct. This sucks man. They tell you how the starter managed to fail?

They said due to the transmission locking up when trying to turn it over it just kept attempting to start the motor until it gave out.

According do the dealership 3-5days for parts and one day for replacement of the transmission and ill have my car back. As of 21st of Sept. 2020. Dealership let me know they found metal in the trans fluid and that kia wouldn't let them actually open up the trans. Getting it replaced through warranty, will update when I have the car back in my possession.

Make sure you know they’re going to do a thorough check of the engine and rest of the drivetrain. I’d be afraid of the sudden stress put on the engine and diff and u-joints from when it would slam into gear.

I'll definitely be taking it slow and making sure everything is working as best I can tell. The py good thing is this all happened under 10mph so hopefully not too much stress on anything else
