Possible to add automatic lift gate to GT1?

Like the title says, does anyone know if the wiring for the auto lift trunk/hatch is in the GT1 such that one could buy the hardware and switches and install aftermarket?

I think it was shameful to leave that feature off the GT1 and it’s the one feature I wish I could have added as an option.

I agree. I wish the gt1 had the option available for cooled seats as well as a power lift gate.

I bought my GT1 thinking it had a power lift gate or a lever to open the hatch like my previous hatch back...what a surprise! Would be very interested in getting this installed if available.

you are looking at a power lift gate module (PTGM), PTG latch assym, PTG spindle (the shocks), anti pinch straps L and R, new switch assym, another switch for interior, power lift gate buzzer (dont need. now you are gonna need to check for wiring (see if you can even add your module) its located driver side between tail lamp and gas door. Lastly and probably hardest part if not supported- the module needs to be activated once installed/replaced at dealership. the scan tool may not let you trick a gt1 into thinking its a gt2. also dont know if the ECM on the stinger will even look for a PTGM if you throw one on. I will see what i can pull up at work.

The GT1 does have both options available...the option being to get the GT2 ;-)

I'm betting, wiring, hydraulic shocks, sensors and the buttons, trunk trim, etc.

I'm also betting the price will make it seem like opening the trunk manually isn't that bad.

I also think the GT2 is the only one that should have that option, you have to have model separation and price points.
