Performance gains Catback exhaust?

Are your Megan downpipes both primary and secondary, with HFC on the primaries and cat deletes on the secondaries?

A possible fix might be additional resonators to dampen the sound. MBRP sells them, but then I would have to make cuts. If the sound is still not good afterwards then I can't return them and out the full cost rather than the penalty of a restock fee. Tough call...

There is another thread I found where other Stingers with Ultimate Performance primary and secondary downpipes are having the same sound issues with Borla and other cat systems. I have yet to find a tuned end-to-end system of primaries, secondaries, and catback sold as a single unit. Seems like that route is custom only.
When I had the car it was only the lower downpipes not the primary. The Infiniti forum had plenty of ppl running both primary and secondary but with a tune and no problems. I agree though seems like a full tuned end to end exhaust system just isn’t possible. What if you went with just the midpipe from ultimate performance and your megan exhaust ? Or another set of downpipes ark or Jun bl with the megan exhaust ? The Jun bl downpipes with the megan exhaust is the route I’m leaning towards. Seems like the right sound as I heard the megan exhaust from another member on here . Can you share some vid clips of just the megan exhaust ?

I made this yesterday. Some clips from outside the car with the Megan Catback. Just a cell phone camera video. Sounds much better in person since the mic greatly amplifies the tire noise on the wet road, ambient outside noise, etc. It gives you a good idea though.

It gives a very good idea. The sound on the Megan exhaust sounds clean, refined and with a low growl. This vid sums it up for me bro. Appreciate the input and the great vid on the exhaust. I’ll pair this up with the Jun bl downpipes to see what that will sound like. Do you have any tips on that Megan exhaust ? You think you need them ?

I appreciate the input about the video. I watched this one and a few mbrp ones back to back and I definitely think I made the right choice (in my opinion). You can definitely hear the MBRP is a little higher pitched and a little "farty" at the higher RPMs, plus the Megan is like $400 dollars less so what's not to love?

As with any aftermarket setup, you'll probably want tips unless you don't mind some drone. I attached a pic of the tips I got from AliExpress. You'd order a 60mm inlet diameter and 105mm X 75mm outlet (if you want oval ones that is). That's what I ordered and they fit perfectly.

We are definitely thinking the same ideas bro. I thought the mbrp sounded good but it did give have a higher pitch imo as well. I didnt mind it though as you pair it with downpipes I didn’t hear it as much. But this sound is just perfect to me. Perfect for daily yet can scream pretty well on wot. And I see Ali tips are the main go to for the stinger community. Thanks. Hopefully more ppl will look at this set up after your YouTube exhaust review .

Safest bet is to get the Megan if you want abit more oophf than stock. MBRP so far is the most popular choice here followed with Borla

I have yet to hear a farty noise lol.

Still love my Megan racing exhaust even though I haven't driven my car for a while now. IMO its the best sounding exhaust for these cars.

With your MBRP, I was getting weird rattle and noises. I replaced the stock clamps that came with MBRP to some heavy duty ones from NAPA. Looks to have fixed my rattle and odd leaks and noises coming from MBRP. No matter how tight you made it with stock clamps I was able to wiggle the exhaust. added the nappas, tighten them and nothing moves

I forgot to mention Megan had really good customer service too. Emailed them two different times (during business hours) for a couple questions and both times received a reply within 10 minutes. I haven't read up on MBRP's Customer service, so I don't know if it's good or not either. There are probably threads on that somewhere.

Great customer service always a plus. You plan on adding downpipes or just leaving it as the Megan Catback exhaust ?

How are you liking the bms intakes ? I was waiting for Afe to drop their enclosed cold air intake system in April and give them a try

About the downpipe, nah I'm just going to stay catback only. Trying to stay within warranty.

The BMS are awesome, very audible spooling under medium acceleration,, and loud spooling under heavy Throttle. People think I have external blow off valves because it gives a nice PSHHH sound when you abruptly let off when giving it medium to heavy Throttle. Pretty much all aftermarket intakes are good for this car is the general consensus, so I just went with the BMS based on soundclips I heard on YouTube, the fact that you can keep the bottom of the stock airbox, and price.

Just pulled the trigger last night my guy on the Megan Catback exhaust. I’ll leave the factory stock air boxes for now and pair those with snorkels .

You think these could match up to the Megan exhaust we have ? I know it would require some cutting of the bumper but could it be done . Love those 4 inch tips . Really didn’t have that much about the dimensions of it

1pc on Ali express is equal to two exhaust Tips (a set) or just one ?

Sweet!! Did you get it from KDM Project?

I'm not sure to be honest, you could email them and see if the inlets would match up. The outlets would be too large. I don't think a 4" would fit even with trimming the bumper, but I could be wrong. On the exhaust thread it has what diameter round tips will fit in the fascia, but I don't remember on the top of my head. Check out that thread... it's super long, but you'll learn a lot.

It depends on the listing. Some include 2 and some include 1. The ones I bought included 1 so I had to set the quantity to 4.
