How many out there are dressing up the stock engine covers? I think it could be a quick and cost-effective upgrade. Curious to know the color combos and techniques that others are using; paint, vinyl, plastidip? Would love to see other examples

@Rango Looks great - is this vinyl?

Not sure who this is - looks like paint.

Mine is also the same as @Rango except Black CF finish.
These Engine Covers come from SharkRacing.com in either Black or Red.

They all look great!
I’ve been thinking about painting mine micro blue to match the exterior.

You could try painting it, and if it doesn't work out but a replacement from shark..

I have tried Plastidip and Vinyl. Plastidip works quite decently if your masking skills are on point and you can confidently get the masked edges to pull without ripping up the plastidip (easier said than done). The vinyl is still on mine and from a distance looks OK, but the issue is all the edges that I had to heat to get to form to the shape, like over the "vents" on the left side, around the oil filler on the right, they all came back off the plastic because of the heat in the engine bay. To get those edges, you'd likely have to carefully cut and apply more material to the tightest corners and edges. It looked really good (IMO) before it went into the hot engine bay and a lot of the edges tight corners came up.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Just finished mine today.

I prefer the stock cover, the painted ones all look too boy racer/DIY to me. Takes me back to being 16 again when I pulled and painted the valve cover on my CRX along with a bunch of other interior pieces. I ended up really regretting the interior painting I did on that car even though I did a decent job.

I think the only way I'd like it was if it kept the look of the factory cover with turbo in red but was made from real carbon fiber.

That reminds me of my '94 Cavalier. It had that nasty classic "accordion" shift boot. I custom made a bezel and added a normal leather shift boot. It was ricey, it wasn't done great, but I think I was an improvement lol.And of course, pedal covers...friggen classic!
