Just changed the oil on my Stinger for the first time and had some difficulty locating a filter at any of the auto part stores, ending up having to get one from the dealership where they charged me....... $18?!?!

What the heck? What an outrageous price, for a cartridge filter at that. Did a search online after and found only the OEM filter and a Wix. Wix makes good stuff, I'll probably get one next change. Anyone know who makes the OEM filter? Has anyone found a filter other than those two?

Yup. That's the current state of things. The platform is just too new. The Wix filter isn't commonly stocked - or even in the catalogs - yet. I had to buy them online.
The going rate at the dealer should be $9/filter. OEM is Mahle - it's stamped right on the thing.

Shouldn't be surprised the dealer near my house ripped me off, they also tried to sell me the exact car I bought for 4k OVER msrp, I went to the dealer I go to for service and got it for 6k UNDER msrp.

I already put it on and threw the box away, didn't check the brand before putting it on.

Good eye. I had to stare at it quite a while to make out the barely legible yellow Mahle on the filter. I bought 3 of them on eBay for $30, free shipping. In addition to WIX WL10237, Fram also makes a filter FP10855 that is compatible. Maybe the Germans (Mahle or Purolator/Bosch/Mann/Hummel) will eventually make a fleece filter for the 3.3L.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Rock auto $8

Napa gold, manufactured by Wix. Paid under $10 for two. Comes with all the bits as well.

Bought mine at fleetfilter.com.

part #10237

Way cheaper at $5.72 per filter.
If you figure changing oil at around 3000 - 5000 miles then buying a case of 24 is the cheapest way to go if you plan on keeping the car past 72,000 miles.
Shipping is less than 12.00.

I get them from factorykiapartsonline (it wont let me post the link) for $7.37. They charge about $8 shipping so its best to buy 3 or more at a time.

Good info here might start doing my own in between the free ones from the dealership I'd rather do it more often than every 6k for the free one. May not need it but feel it's worth the cost as an insurance policy.
