Who has or had their Stinger OEM spark plugs re-gaped? Went to my local Kia Dealer Service Department and asked them to re-gap my plugs. Chief service technician said they would not re-gap the OEM platinum plugs because of the thin electrode, not because of Kia policies. So I guess my options are; do it myself, or find a 3rd party shop. Estimated cost ~ $300 (dealer est based on 3 hrs work).

I had my OEM plugs regapped to 0.025". Costed $150 in Norcal. Dealer said they wouldn't do it, based on Kia policies.

Wow who did you get to do it that cheap in Nor Cal? Did they do a good job?

AA Motorworks in Mountain View. Car has been running great on ~18 psi for about 1500 miles so I posit they did a good job. The guy who runs it didn't seem friendly at first but he actually was. I recommend them.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I’m very new to this sort of thing. What would regapping do to benefit this car?

Some of those that have tuned have experienced some misfires on the stock gapping, even leading to fouling out plugs and coils. The reduced gap can prevent it from ‘missing’ on a firing attempt.

I had some misfires with my Race Chip running 94 octane using sport tune. Pulled it of until I get new plugs installed. Wish plugs were not such a hassle to replace!
