ThanksI just purchased the OEM kit and am waiting for it in the mail. I'll let the thread know how it goes.

There you go, nobody else was wondering but I've answered the question with a video. This is just my experience and description of it and I'm just a village idiot.Thanks![]()
Just search eBay.Anyone have a working link to the part? The original link doesn't work for me

I called the technical support they said it is supposed to be that way.Installed mine this afternoon. Connecting everything is pretty easy, the hard part was getting everything stuffed back in. I didn't end up using any of the zip ties as everything was staying in place. Works with both remotes.
I did do a pretty stupid thing, after disconnecting the battery I decided to force close the hatch as it was cold and windy out. Had to crawl back there and use manual trunk release so I had easier access to reconnect negative battery terminal. Kind of difficult when you are big guy like myself.
Question for those who have this, when you turn off the car via the remote does the horn beep once after it shuts off? Thought that was a little odd.
Thanks to Grishbok and SilverNitr8's write-up's, made it super simple. Installed today, got the kit off of ebay from an actual Kia dealership, under $300 (that was including tax). However, I came up with an issue that I hope someone can help me with.
After the install and before putting the trim back on, I re-connected the battery and tried it with the smart key and provided remote. Worked great. Put everything back together, played around a little more. Tried the engine off function, worked, but the horn would go off (once) when shutting off. A little more playing around, then the smart key wouldn't work to remote start the Stinger. The provided remote still worked great, but the smart key was no longer working to remote start. Pressed locked button, held trunk key (lights would flash), but no remote start. Took everything apart again (this time, took me less than 5 min to get all the trim off), disconnected, reconnected all the wiring, tried again and still same issues (still horn goes off 3 out 4 times when shutting off w/remote). Looked in the manual, but was no help. One other new thing, car locks automatically after a minute if I leave it unlocked, Stinger still runs fine. Hopefully, someone on here has experienced and can help? TIA.

UPDATE: Okay after reading up in another forum (stingerforum.org) was able to figure it out. Was holding down the trunk button on the smart fob, just press lock and then the trunk key and it will work (don't hold down). So I did do it right.
Did you ever figure out why the alarm was going off with the dedicated remote start fob? My Stinger that I just got home with tonight is doing the same thing; starts fine from the dedicated fob, but alarm goes nuts if I use the same dedicated fob to shut it off.
If you shut if off with the fob then the horn is supposed to honk once. Confirmed with manufacturer that this was normal. Not sure why they did it, as it is annoying (and surprised the heck out of me the first time). However, just don't shut off the remote start, open the door and the car will shut down without it going off. If your car is continuously honking/going off, then there is something else going on. Yup, 10 min and shutoff when entering is normal. Somewhere in the forums, several people mentioned installing the Compustar remote start system from Best Buy and it worked like a gem. Wish I researched a little more before I bought the oem remote start and installed. Thanks a million for the reply. That's insane that it's expected behavior. It even does it after 10 minutes and auto turning the car off.
Semi related: I've had remote start in 4 other vehicles and when you unlock the vehicle to get in, the car stays on as you're getting in to go somewhere. No matter how I start the Stinger remotely, once I unlock it to enter, the car shuts off. Is that expected behavior as well??
If this is the case I might get a 2 way Compustar system when they go on sale at Best Buy ($200 - 300 including install). I've had aftermarket Compustar systems in 3/4 cars with remote start and it always works astoundingly well.

I actually picked up a Compustar 2 ways system from Best Buy for $249.99 + tax with free install and am having that installed this Saturday. Anyone else have something like this done and know whether they took the OEM one out? Thanks again. I've read through many or all of the remote install threads to find out as much as possible and didn't notice this stuff. Really appreciate the confirmation.
Sure I paid for the remote install in some way, but I just got the car this past Tuesday after 3 dealerships were bidding over my business. Just so happened the folks with the best deal had a bunch of extras like remote start, puddle lights, wheel locks, and more. I'll count it as a win and sell it aftermarket when I get a Compustar system or the like.
I will say, the remote start is the only complaint I have about the car. Otherwise it's bar none my favorite vehicle to date.
So I just installed my remote start system, and I *totally* did this.<snip>
