Hey everyone, I tried looking for something along the lines of my problem but could not find a explanation for this. My stinger every time on ignition creates a rapid "popping" or "cracking" sound not too sure how to describe it in the speaker in the center. Interestingly enough this only happens when I start the car for a 3-8 seconds (it varies at times) but after those few seconds, everything is as it should be. The only thing I found remotely close to the reason why this is happening could be due to the pumped in engine noise but besides that, I can't source out the issue. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

Welcome to your first post. :P That's a weird one. Never heard of "static" that just goes away. Hope, of course, that it isn't the beginning of sorrows.

Setup custom mode to have pumped in audio disabled, then start the car and switch it to custom as soon as it turns on. if its related to the pumped in audio, it should stop the noises much quicker because of the mode switch. If not, you have another issue.

Will do I’ll try that out I have a feeling it could be the pumped in audio. Thanks!

Same problem for me from sound of it. They blamed my speaker. Put new one in. Still same sound. Any answers?

Howdy and welcome to you too. Does your center speaker static disappear after a few seconds like OP's did? I could live with that (but always wonder and wait to see if it's the forerunner of bigger problems). Maybe it's the way the Stinger clears its throat first thing in the morning. Hah.

Yes it stops. Lasts like 3 seconds, occ longer. Occasionally happens later after start up while driving.

Record the audio (or take a video) with your cell phone and upload it(?). We're all guessing without hearing it for ourselves.

I have a 2018 premium AWD. My car has the exact problem and has been doing it for quite some time. It is intermittent and has not involved any other function of the car. It is paid for, so I kinda deal with it. Comforting to see others with the same issue - but no real consequences.

This has been happening to me for quite some time. But there seems to be no consequences for it. It's paid for - so I ignore it since it is intermittent

I have a theory its related to battery voltage. I have the same intermittent issue as OP. It is way more prevalent during the winter months, cant say that i have heard it so far this summer. I have a 2018 on the original battery, i plan on replacing the battery later this summer after all my travels.

Can someone who has the issue share this "sound"

I recently shared the sound of the HUD - it's not too difficult to capture.

Very curious about this center channel sound

I too have OPs exact issue going on with my stinger and it’s also a 2018 on original battery. But it’s happening starting all through this summer, so the cold weather may not be it. Or it could be! Haha

I'm not sure about it being voltage related. I live in the NE and this happens year-round (and now it's been happening for a few years.) From another source, I found that the noise may be replicated if you change the air vent choices!!! The noise always happened to me during start-up or shut-down, exactly like OP - but it does happen (sometimes) if I change air vent mode while I'm driving! How strange is that?? I would like to says it's an actuator, but the click sound is kinda electronic in nature and almost sounds as if it's coming from the front dashboard speaker (again, like OP). Anyone have any affirmation of what I'm taking about? Change the vent mode while driving, or at random times - see if the clicks happen. Sounds a little crazy, but I am able to sometimes replicate the noise this way. Good luck.

Does anyone have a sound clip of the noise we're talking about?

I'm having what I believe the OP is experiencing and will try to record it next time.
